There is a difference.
I would hardly call a poster picture of a recently announced game an indicator of its gameplay :colbert:
I'd still be very happy with it if they wanted to go more action oriented, as long as they make some twisted and horrible new necromorphs to up the ante.
No, you're ruining survival horror. Go away.
[editline]03:41PM[/editline]
Also, I know it's not. But Dead Space 2, cell-shaded would be weird.
[editline]03:43PM[/editline]
Dead Space is the last beacon of light in the dark world that is Survival Horror (strange analogy). Turning this into an action game would ruin my hope for the genre.
If DS goes then all that is left is the mediocre new Silent Hill games. And hopefully a port of Fatal Frame 4
I have to say I can't wait for this game already. I do have my worries as everyone else though. I hope they keep the atmosphere.
Talking? Well, as long as he has his "real" pain screams and sounds like a normal person I'm okay with it. But he should talk like his mood is down or something, nothing cheery. After the first game he should be really torn up. Girlfriend dead and all the other fucked up shit would leave a mark, in my opinion.
The armor looks ACE. Seriously, I love it. The Necromorphs looks too "nice" I guess. The first game's monsters showed they were human before. All the new limbs burst out of their original bodies, giving them disturbing feel. That one on the picture looks a bit too "clean".
Oh god, the scream after the Hive Mind bites off his arms (before it BITES HIM IN HALF, mind you) is fucking terrifying. D:

Praying for more creepy death sequences in the sequel.
I've heard those screams in like 1000's of games and movies.
Seriously.

Most epic death scene ever.

No, they recorded everything for the game. Its not like the whilheim scream.
[editline]04:29PM[/editline]
Also fuck yes DS2
Actually. Two of those screams Ive heard before. And if they're just similar it's still basically the same.
That helmet is so badass
I would buy this game just for how badass that helmet looks.

I've beaten the game but never saw that sequence, but goddamn that's just...
I fucking hate the invincible enemies, they scared the shit out of me. I had to put on godmode just so I didn't shit myself when I encountered them. Interacting with NPCs sounds good, one thing I didn't like in DS1 was that every time you encountered someone they were behind a glass partition, or you were unable to move.
That was one enemy. The Hunter, is what you're talking about. I think.
Also, his new suit makes him look like an Orbital Frame.
pretty spoilery, but most people say that it was a hallucination.
What do you mean most people say it was a hallucination?
EA already announced about a couple of months after Dead Space 1 that it WAS a hallucination and he was alive.
Calm down, broskie.

Great now i cant sleep
Jesus i just realized how easily i get scared/creeped out :emo:
My friends getting DS1 for christmas. (lol) I think i'm gunna borrow that and play it a while and if i like it i'l get DS2
He went from an engineer to an ass kicking, space ninja. I hope they'll bring back the ripper. It's the future of chainsaw massacres. Oh, and more disturbing death sequences that can blow this one out of the water.

That gave me the heebie jeebies the first time I saw it.
Oh, and

I honesy hate the ripper. However, it is useful. It's so hard to use in Dead Space: Extraction.
Line Gun was my fav gun in Dead Space 1, so useful to blow away several limbs.
And Plasma Rifle was one of the worst, if not the worst.
[editline]11:00AM[/editline]
wait, i'm a gold member now?!
Another marker?
Do I sense some plot recycling?
-SPOILERS-
The Marker in the first game was the Red Marker, recreated by humans from the original Black Marker of alien origin. I'm not sure, but I think the red one was destroyed with Aegis VII.

I always thought that Kendra loaded it back into the shuttle. You don't actually see her doing it but she takes it away from the pedestal and is at the landing pad first. Might explain why Issac see's Nicole at the end, being in proximity of the Marker and all. Or is the Marker left on Aegis, haven't played it in ages so I don't remember.

And you noticed that before you take off, you can see the Marker in front of you, ready to be loaded but there really isn't any time for that?
Nice.
I just hope it fucking includes CO-OP this time around, would be fun to kick some NECROmorph ass with a friend.
yeah, can't wait now to shoot some necros
I just hope it fucking includes CO-OP this time around, would be fun to kick some xenomorph ass with a friend.
Xenomorphs are from Alien
Dead Space has Necromorphs
Xeno= Strange, Foreign, unknown
Necro= Dead
Morph= Change
Yeah Haven't played in a while sorry.
Resident Evil-styled co-op would be nice.
Stomp babies with friends.
Well, RE5 co-op was forced. I'd enjoy co-op but not if it is forced. I still want the single-player to be isolated.
[editline]12:59PM[/editline]
Also, I haven't heard anyone else say this except me and that bothers me.
The babies in the first game are Bulbasaurs. Like, %100 bulbasaur!
