Ok I'm not a big Pokemon gamer here, but it seems every time I pick up a game, I always stick with like 2 or 3 pokemon, and mainly use the rest in my party for HM moves. Honestly, I'll have like level 60 pokemon in my first 2 slots and everything else will be like level 5.
I guess I really just brute force my way through the game. Does anyone else do this? Or are you guys hard core and learn all their weaknesses and pull off awesome combos?

Back when I didn't care much for the technical side of things I would just have a one sided team with my main powerhouse going though the majority of the game.
Nowadays I find enjoyment in upping the difficulty and fun by going ahead with strategy and using way less grinding.

It's honestly not a bad idea given that your strong 3 can cover each other's weaknesses, saves a lot of time grinding those extra 3 pokemon. When i ran a Fire Red emulator, i had 3-4 HM whores and demolished the Elite Four with a lvl 84 Charizard

never did, always felt it ruins the idea of pokemon, whats the point in having types if you can massacre anything with your stupidly high level micro team. That said, play how you want, it's not my right to dictate that, just I don't find it fun is all.
