Since I don't have a DS and can't play Soul Silver or Heart Gold I got a GBA emulator with a "Pokemon Shiny Gold" rom. It's basically a modded Firered game with the Gold story and characters and stuff. It's pretty cool.
Who else agrees that the original Pokemon are the best?
I agree that I hold fond memories of playing Blue on an old emulator from a floppy disk shared around at school.
I don't agree that it was the best game out of the library of Pokemon games currently available.

I don't. They hold a special spot to me because they're the original of course, but I love 5th gen the best
Fuck, the store shipment arrives tomorrow at 1:00, and I have to be at the airport at 11:30.
Fuck.
My favourite gen was probably gen3, I like all the new stuff but gen3 had the best pokes and my favourite graphics (awesome sprites but not he psuedo3D which I don't like)
Best Minimalist Pokémon Related Wallpaper ever
[img_thumb]http://img541.imageshack.us/img541/4651/anniversaryunova.png[/img_thumb]
I preferred the RBY variant. I ended up making that for Skotein after he said he needed more motivation to get his 1000 fans. I spent a ton of time on the anniversary set, I'm glad so many people ended up liking them. I've been spending a ton of my free time working on Unova walls so I'd have a wallpaper for every new pokemon by March 6th, and doing a wallpaper for every single pokemon ever in the same style can completely burn you out, so I had fun making these.
In regards to the actual topic, I can't really say any previous generation is better than the most current. I mean, did you try to play Emerald for the first week or so after Diamond and Pearl's release? The jump was MAJOR and at the time, those maps were awesome, given Pokemon's standards. As much as I hate to say it, Gen 1 just really didn't age well. I mean, don't get me wrong, I still love it from a memory standpoint- it's amazing to think that I got it as a birthday gift without knowing anything about the game, picking up my Squirtle, and going out into the world, and I'm STILL doing that after 15 years, but...for lack of a better way of saying it, the game was best on the first run. I can never experience picking my starter again for the first time. That spark will never be there, no matter how long I stay away from the game(s).
Gen 1 had awesome starters, inliked the gen 2 first forms more but there final forms were disappointing. Also couldn't preorder because my rents wOnt let me buy anything online
You ditched your starter?

Brophlosion is the best Gen 2 starter.
No offense, dude, but that is the lamest line I have heard for some time now, it's like, really REALLY lame.
Anyways, I got around playing Pokémon FireRed again, chose the female heroine this time, and some of the lines the female trainers say to you makes the female trainers sound lesbian, it's pretty funny.
Yeah Gen III had a lot of my favorite pokemon. I loved every gen quite honestly but my favorite would likely be Gen II possibly Gen IV for giving me a difficult champion for the first time.
Gen 2 was cool in the region's build, but for some reason i never liked the starters. Ever.
Even in Gen 1 the only one i ever seemed to like was Charizard. In Gen 3, however, Blaziken and Swampert were the shitbiscuits of domination.
Two days.
4 days, not inclusive of today :buddy:
Friday.
I'm gonna wait. Don't have money anyway, blew half on fuckin' awesome cards and a Snivy giant plush.
I'll just buy the DSi w/Black anyway.
My copy of Pokemon White came in the post today. It's out on Friday.
So far shit's pretty tight. Nice sprites and art, and the music is kickin'.
You lucky bastard.
I couldn't go to per order White since parents are sick. No Wall Cling and hopefully a few left.
Attempting to put off going to girlfriend's on friday night in favour of playing Pokemon

Weren't here a few months ago were you?
Basically everyone already did.
I got sucked back into Pokemon because my 9 year old cousin plays it now and I wanted an easy way to bond with him. Anyway, Should I pick up a 3DS to buy Black/White?
Agree/Disagree
If you don't plan to pick up 3DS games then just a DS works fine.
