Also unless you are using Meg as a HM slave replace her with Gretchen the nuzleaf.
Also if you have a nincada evolve it and get a shedinja.
Metagross is completely incapable of hitting shedinja.

Depends on the moveset.
Tentacruel can be a freak against what, Karen and maybe Bruno?
Though i suggest you try Exeggutor or Slowbro.
Both are slow, yeah, but insanely powerful, and require little to no strategy.

Just telling you he might be you're best chance to sweep the E4.
But if you're going to use clamperl make sure to evolve it into a gorebyss and teach it baton pass+amnesia/agility.

Use Mightyena, in singleplayer it can be a beast with Howl, Facade/Strength, Crunch and Roar.
I swept through the Hoenn E4 with a lvl 72 Mightyena.

It was gen 3 so in this case it was physical so it was his best move.

A max evolved level 72 ANYTHING can sweep the E4 pretty much.
Also crunch doesn't even get the howl boosts in gen 3.
That's why Cheer up would have been useful in 1st-2nd-3rd gen.
Now it's pretty useless
