Gamefreak is the master troll, apparently some guy captured a Victini on a ROM, playing through an emulator and he got some error and the game just died right there.
Edit:
Apparently whatever Gamefreak used glitched up, all his items turned into Rare Candy x999
Probably an AR code that didn't quite work.

The memos inside the books told you which books to try to find
Quite funny in that if you tried to click your way through the books you probably ended up saying Pokabu tastes good when boiled without even noticing what you said
