Theory here but... having the exact same patched ROMS on NDS carts would allow fine compatibility. Then save the replay, load it back on through an emulator and record from the PC.
That or a function in an emulator that allows LAN or the equivalent for battles.
Note that I have no credibility on this part due to waiting on the official release, but a Battle Frontier of sorts.

Is it just me, or have the pokemon's artstyle gone shittier for each generation?
The Diamond and pearl style were ok at some parts, but the Black and white's artstyle just does it for me.
I mean, not to be a "old" fag but I personally prefer the Kanto starters over all other generations, just my opinion.
