I recently restarted my game (SS). Started with chikorita, traded over a newly hatched Riolu, and only caught pokemon I wanted/needed
My team so far (just beat Chuck. all pkmn lvl 25)

I'm doing pretty good so far.
I have recently designed my Safari Zone to be a big dick.
All the paths through each area have to go through grass, and all but one of the paths connecting to the first area are blocked on the other side.
also I am currently finding the gender ratio of all the pokemon I have caught.

I still hate gear. I've never felt so much hatred for a single pokémon ever, until I saw it's evolutions. Everytime it evolves, it's "+1 gear, add 'Gi' in front of the previous one's name" and voila!

I don't think you understand. The name adds an additional Gi because an additional gear is added.
What you are saying is that it was a Charmader the whole 3 evolutions but a tail got added each time.
