I remember how anticipated this game was way back in 04-05.. But never bought it myself because my rig surely couldn't run it.. Times are different now so i'm getting a buddy to buy it so we could play together.. I have just one question though.. Should we buy the original + the FA expansion, or is getting FA alone enough? (one source says only FA, while the other says that you can't use all factions online/lan with only FA..)

So if you plan on playing the campaign, you might want to get the original as well because FA continues straight after the first one's campaign and it throws you into heavy combat instantly which might be hard for a beginner. Also, FA doesn't have faction specific campaigns unlike the original. So if you plan on just playing multiplayer, get FA. If you want to play multiplayer and singleplayer, get both.
Actually, SupCom 2's graphics were turned down a notch so that consoles could run it decently. I'm guessing thats the reason they took the map sizes and unit amounts down too, so they could get a whole extra market on consoles. They took a real dump on the PC fans with that decision, though.
Nah, I was referring to SupCom 1, i've not played 2. Considering what i've heard about it, I don't think I want to :/
Yeah, T2 AA (stationary) guns work well too in base defense. But I personally tend to just use Restorers as AA defence and against ground targets only if I have nothing else left to defend with.
Never build stationary T2 AA, it's much cheaper to just build mobile flaks. Also, ASF win restorers in mass. Not by much though.
i miss this game
I remember playing it back in beta, and hating it because it was slow as fuck on shitty PC, could not connect to others in multiplayer (and lack of AI opponent was annoying), and because I could not get a good resource balance. A few months ago I played SC2 and found it lacking, due to all the limitations. I want to try SC again.
