Main Quest is too boring for me, I did all the sidequests though.
I pretty much played through all the sidequests (except shivering isles), and the main quest on vanilla oblivion. Is there a list of mods to download that can make it feel like a new game again?
Just go to my link on the last page.
The only Main quest I finished was SI's Shit was trippy
Main Quest is too hard, long, and boring for me, I did all the sidequests though.
The only part of the main quest that bored me was the part where you have to close all the Oblivion gates that are close to the towns to get their help for the "Allies for Bruma" quest. I swear, you had to go through about 8 Oblivion gates (if memory serves) and do the same thing over and over. It was so repetitive.

Is anyone here using the Elsweyr mod? I'm considering downloading it, but I want to know if it's any good before I download it all.

I decided to only get potions and spells and things like that because they hold a high value to weight ratio.
I change the difficulty to very easy. Don't hate. I just do that when in Oblivion gates, I play on normal outside of it.
How do I kill ghosts with my fists
Is anyone here using the Elsweyr mod? I'm considering downloading it, but I want to know if it's any good before I download it all.
Yea I'm considering it too, but apparently it comes with no side-quests so I'm not sure it's worth it.
Don't think you can Fire. Is there a mod that makes it so that moving objects/bodies is easier? A spell came with some mod that I have that picks up bodies but it's really buggy(bodies can be moved into objects/walls). [editline]11:25PM[/editline]
Yea I'm considering it too, but apparently it comes with no side-quests so I'm not sure it's worth it.
I don't think it's done either. I think I'll wait until it's done, then get it.
How do I kill ghosts with my fists
Silver swords work methinks, I usually just run past ghosts.
Silver swords work methinks, I usually just run past ghosts.
Silver and Daedric. There's another one too, I think it's Ebony.
Silver and Daedric. There's another one too, I think it's Ebony.
Only silver and daedric can hurt them without being enchanted.

That's not nice.
Ugh, I really am just starting to dislike oblivion RANT RANT TL:DR version at bottom Everything is linear and completely static, shops level to you, items level to you, quests level, monsters level, quest rewards level, EVERYTHING This completely removes any kind of real action, realism, or fun. I liked it when I could go into a store in Morrowind and find Steel at level 1, Oblivion? I swear I had to get to level 5 to see Steel and fyi, I don't really care for Morrowind The combat is really just bland, I'll put it like this, play oblivion than play dark messiah of might and magic, major different, exactly how it should have been. Quests are typically repetitive, KILL THIS, GO HERE KILL THAT BUHGUGHGH GET THIS FOR ME, the cut out quests like the arena keeper's daughter would have been interesting though (search trash bin near the redguard) One major fucking pet-peeve, if your guy wasn't frozen when the mythic dawn member came from that wall, you could have fucking tackled him and the king would have been safe, you'd be a hero and the fucking empire would be fine. Amazing, no? Overall, everything is static and fake, and meant to give a FAKE sense of immersive gameplay with suspense I don't care if mods fix most problems, that's not the point, the point is the game is just a fucking giant mass of Quantity over Quality, and not to say I totally hate it, but after looking at it over and over again, it's just boring as hell. You can't even live a normal life for god sakes, I mean damn, how do merchants even KNOW that the generic dagger I stole was stolen and refuse to buy it? HOW DOES THAT WORK?! So, it's a decent game but, at the same time as alot of dissapointment TL:DR Combat sucks Leveling world sucks detail-less quantity over quality
Get FCOM and some other mods like Quest Awards Leveller.
That's not nice.
I'm not nice! uh, I mean... fuck it... but yeah, he wants to know how to kill ghosts with HIS FISTS. I think one would need special gauntlets or bracers to do so, though...
naw I know it was stupid I just laughed to myself and not posted :350:
Get FCOM and some other mods like Quest Awards Leveller.
That's beyond my point like I said the game should have never had these kind of issues to begin with
That's beyond my point like I said the game should have never had these kind of issues to begin with
That's true but that doesn't mean you still have to dislike it. Mods make it a whole new game.
If mods are the only thing keeping it alive, the game blows ass No offense, it shouldn't need life support, half life doesn't
If mods are the only thing keeping it alive, the game blows ass No offense, it shouldn't need life support, half life doesn't
if you dont like the game then please leave this is a thread for people who enjoy playing this game
If mods are the only thing keeping it alive, the game blows ass No offense, it shouldn't need life support, half life doesn't
Lots of games are kept alive by mods. I don't think it's a bad thing it just shows the community sometimes knows how to make a game better than even the devs themselves did. Morrowind was the same. Both games are great IMO without mods, but mods make them truly incredible games that you can just keep on playing and playing. Half-Life is the same actually, mods are what keeps the community alive.
Not strictly Oblivion, but I'm downloading TES II: Daggerfall right now (it's freeware, don't ban me). Looks to be a cool experience.
You need mods my friend. Check the OP for a good list. Or for an even better one, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Recommended_Mods
I installed Qarl's Texture Pack and the unofficial Oblivion patch. I wanted to do a clean run the first time through.
learn to read.
I know that he said with his fists.
Don't think you can Fire.
I was just telling Oecleus that silver and daedric can hurt ghosts.
