there's a spellmaking altar in the arcane university if you're in the mages guild. i dunno if you have to be arch-mage rank though. i can't remember. i have a mod that adds enchant/spellmaking altars at every mage guild
Frostcrag Spire has an enchanting altar and a spellmaking altar. To increase your magica, increase or fortify your intelligence. Building your character properly will help.
Well Im drawn between the house in Bravil an the one in Imperial City I only have 8000 in currency at the moment. I wanted one in Bruma but its 10000. Anyways to make qick good cash?
walk along the roads, kill bandits, take their armour/weapons until you can't carry any more, sell it, go back for any armour/weapons that's worth 20+ gold that you left behind, sell that wash rinse repeat
Fighters Guild, Arena
Does anyone here use Midas Magic Spells? I'm wondering if it's compatible with OOO.
How? I've been playing this game for 3 years and for some reason I've never really delved into the magic system. I found some pretty good spells at the Bravil mages guild but I need like 50 more magicka to be able to use them, is there a quick way to get more magicka?
Get in the arcane university, you can make spells there. Either that or with the Spire DLC, which has a spellmaking altar inside the spire.
dungeon crawling
dungeon diving
I'm kinda frustrated. I made a Dark Elf with the main skills of Destruction, Conjuration, Light Armor, Blade, Marksman, Sneak, and Security with the hopes that it'd be good at all three aspects of the game. (Magic, Sneak, and Blade/Bow) But, I'm level 6 and he sucks with a blade, does decent damage with a bow while sneaking, and runs out of Magicka so fast I can barely cast anything. I'm using OOO so that might be the problem but I think I over complicated him by trying to specialize in too many things. Should I keep playing him or just start a new character with less specializations?

Be a battlemage or a spellsword or an assassin. Don't try to be all.

If you're a jack of all trades, you are a master of none. To succeed in OOO, you must correctly build your character to be suited to no more than two of the three specialties. Just one would be enough. How I build a perfect OOO character: Focus on just being a powerful warrior. As long as you have the strength to kill things with your bare hands or with a melee weapon, you're not going to run into any trouble (and this also allows you to carry more things, and you will need the help of many items if you're to succeed as a strict warrior). Carry Apothesis if you need offensive on target magic. Carry enchanted arrows for sneakan geams (since your normal arrows won't do much on their own). Carry scrolls and potions if you need non-offensive magic. Oblivion is a very casual game, sometimes even with mods like OOO. There's always a way to overcome your challenge, even with the most gimped and badly constructed characters. Oblivion offers you all you need to succeed, you just need to take advantage of it.

Finally started the main quest because I want Oblivion gates to show up, 'cause Oblivion gates have sigil stones, and sigil stones=godly equipment. Also, just cleared out an Alyeid ruin full of vampires. HOLY SHIT, best loot ever. Took me at least 5 trips to get it all.

It's completely and totally essential in my opinion. Sigil stones are like the essence of win as far as equipment goes.

Call me stupid and rate me boxes, but is there a way NOT to kill your fellow Dark Brotherhood? They were the only guild that I ever bonded to. Every guild, from mage to fighting, a cardboard is more animated than them.
I'm too scared to do the Dark Brotherhood guild, not scared of them, but of the bounty. If there is one for doing Dark Brotherhood quests.
I'm too scared to do the Dark Brotherhood guild, not scared of them, but of the bounty. Increasing your intelligence stat at level up will increase your magicka capacity. Items can be enchanted with fortify magicka. But the easiest way to have a higher magicka is to forsee the need for it and get bonuses at level up. A Breton with the mage birthsign will get a 100-point bonus to Magicka. What's your race and birthsign?

Besides you get the lols as they beg for the Night Mother to save them as you cut them down. I just completed The Purification and as far as I know I dont have any bounty on my head. If you can complete the murders without the guards getting wind of it your be ok.
Just bought the Game of the Year Edition from Best Buy. Four quick questions: 1. Is it OK to just play vanilla, with no mods? I don't really like installing mods until I finish a game, so unless there's some mod that I really need, I'd prefer to play vanilla. 2. Is the GOTY edition already patched? When I try to install the Shivering Isles patch, I get some error message about readme.txt being different than expected or something. 3. Which data files should I check? It seems the game defaulted to checking the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine packs, but not the default master.esp. On the same note, I haven't gotten any message explaining how to access the Shiver Isles. The instruction manual makes it sound like I'll get a message after 24 in-game hours have passed, but that's not happening. 4. Where can I buy DLC?
GOTY has all the dlc apart from battlehorn castle if you've never played before, play without mods first check all of the data files to enable all of the dlc and stuff

I played vanilla on my first playthrough, then started modding it on my second. 2. Yes, I think so. 3. Tick everything. Sometimes the SI quest doesn't show up. Disable the SI ESP, go into the game, save, exit, re-enable it, and then go back into the game and wait. If there's still nothing, just go ahead and swim to the middle of niben bay and look for the portal. 4. www.obliviondownloads.com Pretty sure the GOTY edition comes with all the DLC though. I don't own it so I can't give a definite opinion.

It dosent change the game that much It just enables you to actually commit crimes without being caught.
