All is well, much obliged. Not sure what the problem was, but I didn't much like that character anyhow. Perhaps this would be a good place to post this question, as I've been looking around on my own for something without any success. I want a mod that integrates a bunch of new weapons and armors into the game, but I want normal stuff. All the equipment mods I've found so far add fancy, glowing anime stuff. I don't dig that, sir. I want a mod that adds a bunch of real or realistic equipment into the game, and integrates them intelligently. Rather than simply having a single store that sells the items, making them completely unique and boring because nobody else is using them, I'd like a weapon mod that adds them to the possible inventory lists of other characters and scatters them around several stores within the game. There were mods like this for Fallout 3, so I can only hope that there are also mods like this for Oblivion- yeah? I've already dug around the Top 100 mods list on TESNexus, but haven't found what I'm looking for. Maybe you know just the fix? Also, if I download a mod that changes the inventories of shop keepers, will that conflict at all with the Enhanced Cities mod? I don't know much about how the SDK for this game or how it works, so I can only assume that the mod, which completely changes the cities inside and out, would effect the inventories of the shopkeeps?
I know excatly what you mean, I'm having a hard time finding armor because most is just skimpy bikinis for female characters, I haven't actually found any armors I'm happy with, but I think Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul adds a bunch which might also be found on NPCs and in shops, I haven't tried it yet so I can't judge the armors. Link in OP. That's also what inspired me to learn modelling for Oblivion.

Hmmm, I can't remeber if we covered this before or not, but does the unofficial patch affect the Steam version?
Did you have a look at that new items plugin for Francesco's? I don't use it but I think it adds new weapons and armour and puts them in the game like you described.
Wow, Francesco's looks awesome. I see now that it's listed in the OP, but only as a footnote in the FCOM convergence mod. Francesco's should be added to that list of mods with a short description of what it does, because I had no idea it did this much.

That's just the kind of armor I need, thank you for posting those good sir!
I just realised most of the helmets are full helmets too, I absolutely hate "half helmets" as all the stock Oblivion ones are except for the madness and crusader ones.
We should make a deer hunting mod.
I personally use a tent mod and MMM has a great hunting and crafting mod. It lets you craft your own arrows and armor, I have been using it to play as a hunter.

I got it installed, but I haven't been able to play around with it much yet. Seems cool, but I'm obviously having some kind of major conflict in my mods, because my game completely crashes every thirty or forty seconds. It's completely unplayable. I'm having to jump through a lot of hoops to get this damn thing working, yo. I crashed before Francisco's, but nothing like this. So, I'm pretty sure Francisco's is what's making my game so ridiculously unstable. That sucks.
FCOM sounds pretty cool actually, should I install it on a second run through or doesn't it affect the gameplay too much to change the experience completely?

I have FCOM installed, and a shit load of mods besides FCOM (And FCOM is a shit load of mods as it is..) and my game is completely stable..

I bought this on Steam last week and I already have over 50 hours on it. :v: I'll probably play with mods (using only the unofficial patches right now) once I finish the quests with this character.
Thread music was chosen wisely. Can't go wrong. Edit cause I'm cool God damn I just took a screenshot of this one deer I killed.. Chased this mother fucker for a sold 8 minutes I'd say. Finally killed him... Then took a screenshot with prrtscn. Then when I exited I remembered that shit don't work with Oblivion. I'll probably never meet that exact deer again either :( Maybe it had kids?
print screen always works. It's basically copy paste (ala ctrl + c) only it copies the screen instead of text. You just have to paste it in a picture editor and save. In other words, it does what the name implies! :D

I still remember when this thread was in General Discussion and had 500 pages. :argh:
man, I only have 80 hours in the game and I have most of the stock quests done. the only ones I didn't finish are 3 useless (to me) item collection quests from Shivering Isles. so, I decided to end the character's career as a character. he's useless now. next time I make a character, I'm going to need some way to extend my play time. any suggestions?
Download mods that add in new quests?

'challenging' would be the right term. Some are actually kind of interesting, I use a few myself. Not handing out any recommendations though, ask someone else!
My oblivion with its mods a few days ago played like such: I mess around, go jump trough dungeons killing what ever is in there and just generally playing, but being bored at the same time. Well, I just installed franz and MMM, and it changed the experience entirely.. Hell, my first 20 minutes in game I killed damn near 50 wolfs, a whole group (15 or so) bandits, had tons of close calls, came across some ruins with about 5 dead wolves, plenty of dead rats, 2 dead trolls, and a dead human with what I swear is some very advanced armor.. Not sure how he died, as I killed the only living thing there pretty easy for a lvl 1 n00b. Following this, I died 4 times in quick succession by running across some god-wolf, and then a very powerful necromancer. This is all in a rather small area too. The wolves are really everywhere. Almost ever turn of a rock, and I find a group of at least 3 wolves, through I found a few 5-10 groups. Though, most the wolves I killed came from right outside anvil (where I start the game), as there was a large pack of 20 or so wolves.. nothing a little fire magic and some kickass swords at relatively cheap prices for a lvl 1 n00b (800 gold and it does 15 damage right off the bat) Really, I have MMM, OOO, and franz working with no crashes, no bugs, no problems... along with all my other mods that should, but don't have compatibility issues. It's wonderful, but weird. I don't even lag in-game...

I honestly have no clue what the problem is. BOSS says my load order is right, Wyre isn't reporting any conflictions, and I run the game with a silky smooth framerate. Oblivion just throws these instantaneous total crashes at me without warning once every couple of minutes. Did this game have trouble on Vista systems? If so, was there a fix? I'm running Windows 7, and it seems to share many of the same problems as its very close cousin, Vista.
I was looking around in my old screenshots and found this creepy picture, it almost makes me jump every time I see it. I was jumping around on the roofs of Bravil watching the guards run around in circles unable to bust me when this one guard suddenly teleports up right in my face and shouts STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM! I shat brix. I know the topics doesn't indicate I have a bounty, but the guards were bugged and for some reason kept chasing me.
BY THE NINE! What the fuck is up with that?
Oh dear. Looks like I contracted a rather nasty disease and forgot to cure it. Drinking seems to be the only way to keep it from getting worse. Anyone care to buy me a Bloody Mary? :drac:
Are there any mods that lets you "plant" items on people that weight more then 0? It's really annoying that I can't put a fucking ring into someones pocket :argh:

Really, there are only two options, live with it, or reinstall several times until it works. For what ever reason my oblivion liked to crash a lot, so after around 5 reinstalls, it's worked out nicely. (I also reformatted between one of those 2 reinstalls, heh) So, basically, just try reinstalling. After which, get graphic mods that lower the stress on your computer, the unoffical patches, and hope for the best. If you don't notice any crashes with just those, then add on mods (if you aren't sure what works, add one mod at a time) I suggest graphic mods because, even with no lag, oblivion crashed more than before I added a few of them. At least, in previous installs. My latest one works out pretty nicely.. Things that can help you are BOSS and Wyre, though you are already using those, heh. Edit: I just found a mod I've been looking for 6 or 7 months for... sounds stupid, but I forgot the name, and I didn't play it much, but it had such amazing features to me... I looked for it occasionally, but never could find it, and I had mixed up the names, which might explain it... http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22595 I am a very happy oblivion player right now.
This (to me) is one of gameings greatest achiememnts. me and my brother would spend 13+ hours at a time playing this game. sometimes we just played for fun (as you should most games) but other times we were a little more serious. we would try and find the best glitches and cheats to power up your character. we must of restarted the game 150+ time (not joking) and went through about 8 150 page notebooks writing down info about leveling up glitches, combining which alchemy ingredients with which other made what potions. and how your alchemy level affected it. and things to that affect. imagine every possible variable and situation in the game attempting to be written down and tested. we wrote down everthing we could find about skills, weapons, armor, how to master diffrent races with diffrent major and minor skills, spells, and potions. more then any stratigey guide. other times we just goofed off and crash the game. like my brother using the duplication glitch to fill the areana from floor to roof with cheese ;)
