:aaaaa: Scan this notebook now
Don't do it, you'll die (ingame) many times from impossible to beat monsters (crashes)!
At least, I couldn't even start oblivion and I installed FCOM twice. But other people have much better luck I suppose.

Well, I managed to get the game to a pretty stable state, I think that installing FCOM shouldn't cause too much hassle.
Also, god fucking damn this mod is big.
Maybe its just me,but am I the only person that has no problems with FCOM or any other mods for this game? seriosuly i didnt even have trouble installing fcom. Oh and make sure you use BOSS if you try to use FCOM. I have like 9gb of mods for this game and i have no crashes at all or anything.

Yeah, BOSS is fucking awesome. It turned my 5-10gb of mods from an unplayable mess to something beautiful.
I've been meaning to get this for ages - but I'm not sure whether I should just wait until I upgrade. Systemrequirementslab says I won't be able to run it, but then again it said the same for SWAT 4 which I can run perfectly.
EDIT:
Haha, oh, nevermind, says I can after checking again. Fuck yes.
Is it safe to install FCOM and continue playing my current character? I've gotten a lot of progress on my current guy, but I don't want to risk having his save file get corrupted like it always did whenever I installed OOO or FCOM.

It does work with existing savegames, but back up your data folder just in case.
I found some weird bug on this one specific rock :v:
Everytime I shot an arrow of immolation at this ONE spot at this ONE rock (it was sort of submerged in water) it would sort of show like a piece of land. It would ripple.. God its hard to explain
but it only worked for immolation arrows and that rock for me
Yep I discover new things every day.
edit: to be more specific, its probably some sort of graphic fuck up on my part :v:
I finished downloading everything, installing now. After looking through the instructions, it doesn't seem too hard to set up, as long as you stick to them.

I think I know what you mean, it also happens if you shoot fire spells, atleast it did when aiming at the ice parts inside frostcrag spire. Must be a graphic glitch.

Generally the more the mod changes the less of a good idea it is to install in the middle of a game. For the best results you should start a new character.
Oh wow, I finished installing FCOM, with a few minor hitches that I sorted out within a few minutes, and... well... I just cannot believe how smooth it runs. It's fucking amazing. All my items from all my other mods are still there, and the 300_test.esp that comes with FCOM tells me that everything has installed perfectly, and I can't get over how fucking smoothly it runs. BOSS+Wrye bash = Fucking win.
I've used boss with wyre for awhile now. But, congratz! :D
I just finished installing better cities and all the unique landscapes, plus I found out the OOO I had installed was old, so I updated it.
Just got even more fun, but damn it is tense at some parts. For instance, I come along a black forest, and suddenly I have 3 minotaurs chasing me, so I end up running through the damn forest, which was rather disturbing. Close to the other side, I run past this unicorn that suddenly attacks the minotaurs, and basically kicks all 3 of their ass', but didn't attack me. Although, I died soon after due to a group of bandits that decided to fire all their bows at the exact time in an open field...

The forests in OOO are fucking scary as hell.
Feel like playing Oblivion again. Gonna get myself my Sauron armour back. And some must have mods.

Fuck, I hate creating new characters. I've had to create so many new characters because of corrupted saves in the past, the tutorial dungeon pisses me the fuck off now.

I feel you on that one.. Fuck I should find a mod to skip it. Or have something new/different.
I feel you on that one.. Fuck I should find a mod to skip it. Or have something new/different.
Just save right before you leave the tutorial dungeon and do not overwrite that save. So if one of your saves get corrupted you can skip all of the dungeon and change your character if you want.
Except a lot of mods require a new game, and using things like wyre bash to update a save with a mod will corrupt that save sometimes. :/
Didn't know that.
Then hopefully someone finds a way to get around the tutorial.

There are mods... Quite a few of them.

For skipping the tutorial dungeon.
I don't see why you couldn't have just looked for yourself, but whatever. The mod gives you almost all of the items from the tutorial dungeon, and it gives you the quest to deliver the amulet.
Something I think is pretty damn cool..
http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25023
it adds an entire new section to the world.

Edit:
Another mod is a very intense combat mod, though it causes seldom crashes (just save every 15-30 minutes like most people already do)

Gahh, better cities brings my PC to its knees. The sheer amount of dynamic lights alone is an incredible FPS eater.

What's your specs? I want an idea of how FPS eating the mod is.

Same here. Right now running Oblivion maxed on 1280x1024 I have a constant 50ish fps, and get as low as 30.. that's with texture packs and shit.
I just want to know if the cities mod will gangrape my frame rates if I use it along with a texture pack or something. I've been wanting to try it for awhile now..

Who are those guys in your avatar? I remember playing a game on commodore 64 as a kid with those guys in it and have always wondered what game it was.

Q9550 at 2.83 GHZ
4GB RAM
HD4870 1GB
Running at all high with QTP3 redimized and some other graphics tweaks installed. Game is silky smooth without better cities (Except in the imperial city market district where the FPS drops somewhat, but still perfectly playable). With better cities, the FPS is a slideshow in most parts of the cities, and smooth when you're not really looking at anything important.

Oh god I've seen them somewhere before but I can't place it.
Looks like the spies from Spy vs Spy to me.
