Well, I have the entire better cities mod installed + unique landscapes, and I don't lag at all..
Edit:
Any one know of mods for the DLCs? Only good one I know of is frostcraig rebourne, but it would be awesome if a mod added more to fighter stronghold..
It's probably due to the shitloads of texture packs I have. I have high res textures of the world, weapons, a lot of the objects, books, armour, etc.
Question: Is it preferable to isntall mods Via Omod files, or to install through pasting texture/mesh etc files along with the .esp's? by which i mean does it have any effect on performance?

OMODs are basically automatically pasting the esps and textures wherever the mod says they need to go, so the performance impact is the same. OMODs are much easier to manage and remove, though.
righto. thanks very much

Ahh shit my specs are nearly the exact same, except I'm running with a 4850. Guess that means I'd get somewhere near the same results as you.. Of course I dont think I have as many texture packs as you either..
i just reinstalled this and all the dlc after not playing in about 6 months because im bored and im in the mood for some elder scrolls but cant wait for tes5
also got a shitload of mods, as always
I bought it today. I can get around 20fps at 640x480 with no AA, Bloom or HDR.
Last time I trust system requirements.

I assume to get the green box you have to have OBSE installed.
I do.
I do.
OK, you sure it's installed correctly? OBSE_loader and all of the dll files extracted into the oblvion root folder? (Not the data folder). Let me just clarify that you can launch the game with OBSE by just running OBSE_loader.exe, if you're having trouble with the slower way of launching it via wrye bash.
Its all there. I'm using the steam Ose version so i guess that could be it, but OBMM recognizes the OBSe steam version. The version is 17b.

Just launch the game via obse_loader then. It's the same thing, and it's faster.
I launch the obse_loader It says use the steam loader. I launch that. I get a notepaed file with lots of foreign characters.
do you have the obse_loader file that was posted on the steam forums? The old one works on the .exe file, which in the steam version is encrypted, so you need the new one:
http://media.steampowered.com/content/obse_loader.zip
then it will launch oblivion properly
I love you meat. I shall find a way to repay you.

I still doesn't launch for me, which is odd. I still have to use the cracked oblivion.exe
Fuck it. It still didn't work.
I've always had to use a fixed exe since I have the D2D version (obse doesn't support that either, forgot why, but its somewhere in the readme :P).. never been a huge issue though, and I assume you could use the same for steam.

Better, but the outfit, as well as the anime styled hair, doesn't fit in with the game. It sticks out like a sore thumb.
Fuck I want to play this again.
Didn't know that.
Then hopefully someone finds a way to get around the tutorial.
There are a lot of options out there for this, but here is my personal favorite: Arrive By Ship. It simply allows you to skip the entire tutorial and dungeon complex and arrive on a boat similar to how new characters started in Morrowind. You fill out your "immigration forms (Class, appearance, skills, etc) and answer a few questions about your character's past which determine what equipment and how much money you start with; this equipment will be located in a sack nearby after you arrive.
The main quest isn't hurt at all either. After leaving the ship, the quest is started with an explanation that you had a dream of the Emperor calling for you as he was killed. It basically plops the Amulet of Kings onto a dead rat near the entrance of the Imperial sewers and changes some of the early quest dialogue. Unfortunately, it does completely cut Patrick Stewart from the game.
Note: This mod is compatible with the enhanced cities mods, but due to changed worldscapes the sack containing your equipment may be "buried" under other objects. Still accessible, just harder to find. I can at least vouch for Anvil's sack being partially exposed, and the Waterfront district of the Imperial City should also be fine, as it isn't altered much with the enhanced cities mod.
Another mod that I'm a big fan of is: Birthsigns Expanded
Most of the original birthsigns were almost useless, and it really only left you with one or two viable options. This mod completely revamps all the birthsigns, making them quite a bit more useful, but also balancing them out. Your birthsigns are now actually important to character creation, as they can give you very useful powers and abilities. But for their enhanced power, they also have enhanced drawbacks. They are built entirely around in-game lore, and are quite cool.
An example:
The Atronauch birthsign now doubles your starting magicka, but you cannot regenerate mana naturally, same as before. However, it gives you the power to suck magical energy from the life forces of things around you, at a cost: it hurts you both. Its greater power makes you highly resistant to all forms of damage for a short time, and also grants you a large mana boost, but it's duration is short and while active you cannot move.
There seems to be this ghost in my house who keeps knocking books off the shelves.
Ok, it's really just the physics, but it's driving me crazy all the same.
I can put them back pretty easily so that's not the problem. What really bugs me is that there seem to be random places on some of the shelves where the physics are screwed up and I keep having to remember to leave those certain spots on the shelf empty.

Who knows. All we knows is that he/she is a sick fuck who writes erotic fanfiction of the xenomorphs from Alien and is the creator of the infamous "Slof's Boners!" for Oblivion.
