"If you are using the Steam version of the game:
1. Copy obse_1_2_416.dll, obse_editor_1_0.dll, obse_editor_1_2.dll, and obse_steam_loader.dll to your Oblivion directory. This is usually "C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\common\oblivion".
2. OBSE will automatically be run along with Oblivion when launched. To disable this, rename or move obse_steam_loader.dll.
Scripts written with these new commands must be written via the TESConstructionSet launched with obse_loader. Open a command prompt window, navigate to your oblivion install folder, and type "obse_loader -editor". The normal editor can open plugins with these extended scripts fine, it just can't recompile them and will give errors if you try."
Also:
Couldn't find Oblivion.exe, make sure you're running this from the same folder as your oblivion.exe.
checksum not found
Let's not forget this:
"You are trying to use a Steam version of Oblivion. Please see Instructions in obse_readme for more information."
Every damn time.
Works for me.

You're an idiot. Those instructions are for people who are fucking making OBSE mods. As for using it with the steam version, I have no idea, I bought retail. Remember, there are only a select few mods that require OBSE, most don't require it.

Maybe, but the ones that do are usually great.
IE: Unnecessary Violence.

Nah, too glitchy.
Something like Midas Magic, though...

Nocturnal?
The Shrine of Nocturnal is located off the Yellow Road north of Leyawiin, just past Blankenmarch. Optionally, you can add a map marker to your map by talking to Alves Uvenim in Leyawiin Mages Guild (topic "Daedra shrines"; you must have already read Modern Heretics or have spoken with Ulene Hlervu about "Cheydinhal"). You need to be at least level 10 to start this quest. When you approach the shrine, you will be asked to recover the Eye of Nocturnal from a pair of thieves that are hiding out in Leyawiin.
I was commenting on that section of your comment, which was stupid, not the other parts. The steam version is supposed to be a little hacky, I think, due to their dogged determination to not modify the steam exe's DRM because of their silly morals.

It may be a little hacky but it works, with the steam version just do what it says in the readme and add obse_loader as a non steam game. Works fine
decided to reinstall this again
installed Oblivion
installed Shivering Isles
now do i installe obliv patch 1.2.0416 and then SI 1.2.0416? or just the SI patch?
edit
thank you nautsabes
Just the SI patch.
so yea im getting back re-addicted to oblivion, I haven't been this addicted since my first character that I got to level 33 or so, lost the save when I switched to the 120 gb harddrive.
My first character was a level 42 Argonian thief. Then I was stupid and went and deleted him :c
My first character was a level 42 Argonian thief. Then I was stupid and went and deleted him :c
Fuck yeah my first character was an Argonian thief too. :madmax:
Also, argonians > khajiits
I started this one as an imperial and picked the worst major skills.
But I'm too far in to start over now
Argonian Magic user.
I ended using my sword anyway half the time.
[editline]11:47PM[/editline]
Now Argonian Badass.
im not sure why i put hand to hand as a major skill considering i have more fun using my ebony longsword
[editline]10:50PM[/editline]
Also, I'm trying to get every town to aid bruma this time.
I've got Chorrol, Skingrad, and the Elder Council left.
I read something about guilds, how do i get guilds to help?
Anybody else get frequent C++ runtime errors when equipping items, or loading games, causing the game to crash?
no but i get random crashes on 360
i learned my lesson last year though, this time i'm making everything omod that i can. Also, i won't intentionally install things that i know conflict.

My character is a mage/thief/thing(Can't remember race :saddowns:), but I end up using my bow because magic is so shit early on.
