Its not the difficulty, just the length of doing it.
But it's all worth it in the end my friend.
I hope they keep using the Gamebryo Engine.
Go ahead.
Rate me dumb.
But only do it after watching this: http://www.pixelux.ch/content/view/55/53/
No more Gamebryo.
Cryengine please.

Dear god no cry engine.
How about Bethesda stops being lazy and makes their own engine?

I think they should get their animations down before they try and tackle their own engine.
my pc would never be able to run this..
whats the recomened specs for this game?
Does anyone know if the GOTY edition on Steam includes the Shivering Isles?
So many hours of gameplay...
Does anyone know if the GOTY edition on Steam includes the Shivering Isles?
Yes, both the 'deluxe' and regular versions include Shivering Isles.

Cool, I plan on buying the Deluxe + the FO3 GOTY :D
Damn! For some reason I really want to replay oblivion, but I do not have the official addons. :(
However I refuse to rebuy oblivion just to get them.
Cryengine looks exactly the same as it does now? Am I the only one noticing this?
I think they should get their animations down before they try and tackle their own engine.
I don't get why everyone says the animations suck, they seem perfectly fine to me.
I need to start playing oblivion again. Any recommended mods? I already know about the ones in the op. I think I have 8 gigs of mods stored on a few disks somewhere.
I have never beat Shivering Isles, I just sit in Cyrodill and try out my mods.
I only finished SI. I'm still supposed to give the guy a deadra artifact in Cyrodill but they are too awesome to lose.

No diagonal walking/running animation. Jumping animation is horrid as well. Plus thei animations overall don't seem as good as other animations from games released around the same time. Sure, they're fine, but seriously, they can do much better.

That's because no one ever walks diagonally unless they're sidling between alleyways. You turn and then walk that direction.
I agree with the jumping though, but it's hard to get a good jump animation because everyone does it differently.

Just because 'no one' ever walks diagonally doesn't mean they shouldn't have an animation for it. It's just being lazy on their part.
I walk diagonally quite often because you actually move fast than you would going forward the normal way.
They're rich, they can afford some mocap. One jumping animation for unarmoured, one for light armour, and another for heavily armoured characters.

I disagree with you moving faster if you do that, try lengthening your strides. (Oh god, you meant in Oblivion didn't you, now I look like a retard.) Also, it gets in other peoples way more, and people aren't sure what way you're going, which makes you look like an ass.
I really doubt I spelled lengthening right.

It feels like you are controlling a floating camera.

I really hope the next ES game isn't a mmorg, I only want a single player game.
whats the recomened specs?
This is off the back of the box, so it should be correct. 3 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor; 1 GB System RAM; ATI X800 series, Nvidia GeForce 6800 series or higher video card. Apparently oblivion is also compatible with windows 2000.

Play a third person game and hold down W and A. They turn and walk in a diagonal direction relative to the camera, not what you think they do, which is shuffle diagonally, still looking forward, and definitely not what Bethesda thinks they do, which is continue running forward, but slide diagonally. It's incredibly immersion breaking, and if the game had a little ore polish it would be one of the most immersive games ever. Refining the conversation and pathfinding system, along with the animations, would really make a better game.

Can't even run the game well without lagging a bunch on a 8500 GT, trust me I tried once.
I bought the game of the year edition a month ago, lets just say its still downloading.

Don't forget the Minimum specs!
512 Ram, 2ghz Processor, 128meg Video card, Oblivion is playable on my 2.1ghz, 1.5gigs Ram X1650 pro (X850 is better than the 1650, but doesn't support 3.0 shaders) But in the large scale fights, it does bog down quite a bit

How good is a 8500 GT compared to a radeon hd 2600 pro?
No more Gamebryo.

Okay, sure. But who'd be able to actually run the game?

Other than people with computers like mine. :smug:
