It does have a bigger community. The controllers are also better, in my opinion. Though, they can't charge like the Ps3's. Some people may like it's exclusives more, some may not. I personally like the interface more than the Ps3's. There's really just seems to be a lot more content on it, though. You really [i]feel[/i] like you're actually part of a huge community.
But I never said one was better than the other.
I honestly prefer the Ps3 over the 360. But, if I payed for Live, and had more games, I'm not sure which I would use more.
I owned both. Sold the PS3. The games sucked for the most part.
I used to play my X360 a lot when I didn't have a life and only played for campaign, but then I got interested in multiplayer and didn't want to end up paying the price of a PS3 for it so I took the plunge and bought one. I never regretted it, and I use the shit out of it. Especially for Bluray movies. About a week after I bought the PS3, my X360 got RROD so I haven't played it since (this was about 3 years ago.)
XBOX gets more expensive after about 2 years (Arcade) and the first day for an Elite. (If you are paying for live)
In the long run, PS3 is cheaper, and offers just as much as the XBOX w/ the exception of the big online community.
Each console has its ups and downs, and no one can face that fact.

I dont intend to cause a shitstorm here, but i only think the xbox has a bigger community because more people got the xbox years ago.
Remember when the 360 was around? and the ps3 wasnt. the 360 was OBVOISLY superoir to the ps2, and when the ps3 came out, people were like, meh ive got an xbox.
And now that the ps3 has better qualities, the xbox has started to steal ideas.
That is just a theory , im not actually all for ps3.
I have a ps3, i dont even know the qualities of it, or the 360, i use it for gaming, and talking to friends?

XBL (XBOX Live) is roughly $50 a year at a time. So lets say you buy an arcade at the price of $200. After two years of play on XBL(Guessing that you bought the same amount of games as you would with the ps3) the price would come out to be $300, therefore, being the same price as the PS3.
Lets say you buy a PS3 with MW2, and a XBOX Elite with MW2. You go home and hook both up to the internet. You have to buy XBL to play online for the 360, and then it would come more expensive than the ps3.
There you have it.

360 has barely any 1080p games. About 6. But PS3 has about 25 1080p games. It really doesn't matter too much because both consoles are incapable of rendering bigger more feature filled games at 1080p.

My list of pros and cons for each is pretty much all opinion. Like most others are, but I did use some factual stuff too.
PS3 Pros:
Free online
Blu ray
Nice and lightweight interface
The controller feels right to me
Media center out of the box, no stupid configuration or streaming needed
Capable of upscaling DVD to a higher quality
Excellent exclusives
PS3 Cons:
Online is a bit odd every couple of days when it gets flooded
Most multiplatform games run worse thanks to their native format being the 360
Barely any community interaction other than insults through text
The store can be empty at times
360 Pros:
Massive community
Some decent exclusives
Stable online
Fairly easy to fix and find support for obscure errors
Large choice in the store
360 Cons:
I cannot stand the controller
The community is mostly retarded
The interface is horribly bloated
Avatars are a fucking joke
Almost any useful perhiperals need to be bought seperately
Uses a old format for data storage, limiting the possibilities
And one point which really doesn't matter; the adverts are fucking annoying and eye wateringly spammed.

To be honest, thats the way i see it.
I have a 360 because all my friends except 2 have it and it seems studios are first making the games for 360 and then porting it over to other platforms (PS3, Windows), which results in the 360-version often being better than the competitors.
Oh and I hate the new triggers on PS3.

I get kind of pissed at the triggers too. Especially when they re-released the God of War Collection and there are parts in the game where you have to press R2/L2 fast and repeatedly. :argh: But the Collection is still awesome. Highly recomended if you like God of War.
Anyways, I was thinking about getting the L2/R2 attachments. There like 2 bucks.

See i don't care much either way. I got a PS3 because i loved the PS2 and the exclusives for the PS3 looked cool.
The Xbox i like the look of but i know i'd play my pc/ps3 more so it's kinda pointless.
My freinds however are dicks. They taunt me about the fact they have an xbox 24/7 they flap their e-peens everywhere and run around with their heads glued to their arseholes.
They even dropped out of my L4D2 4pack group in favour of the Xbox version.
Thats why i have bitter thoughts about the xbox.
