Hmm, Gotta take one day to play thought all of the megaman games, will problably take more than a day tho. Awesome megaman rap.
And the second one would be bubble man, sorry :downs:
It'd be nice if Capcom would stop fucking around with the Battle Network/Starforce series. A Megaman Legends sequel (or at the very least remake) would be wonderful. ...Also, XBL seems like the perfect place for some classic Megaman.
Personally I like MMZ the best. He's just a total badass.
The spinoffs after Mega Man X and Legends are terrible. They look like little kids.
Maybe it's just me, but I can't get into Megaman Legends at all. I got it for the PS1 recently and the controls are just unbearable. I probably would have liked it better if I'd played it back in the day, but since I've played more advanced 3D platformers with two analog sticks, I just can't get accustomed to Legends' sluggish control scheme. Turning with L1 and R1 is so stiff and unnatural. Plus, I've played the game for like 45 minutes so far, and 90% of that time has been spent watching cutscenes and plowing through dialog boxes and exploring town to talk to people and run errands just wishing I could be shooting things. Then when I actually DO get to shoot things, they aren't threatening at all. I just have to stand in front of them and repeatedly fire and they do almost nothing to retaliate. I always knew Megaman games as being a prime example of "Nintendo hard." Levels aren't very long, but they're so difficult that it's going to take you a long time to beat them. I vastly prefer Megaman X, and all the NES (and NES-style) games. I just don't have the patience for Legends. The 2D games just let you pick who you want to kill, then zap you down into his level, and you better hope you survive long enough to fight him. There's almost no talking, just shooting shit and dodging shit with GOOD controls.
For some reason I cant get into the non NES style games and 6, they seem complicated and different for some reason.

I did play it ,but it just felt too different from Megaman Classic/X's Pick up and play style.
Megaman X was beast, too bad they fucked it up when it had so much story potential..
Megaman X was beast, too bad they fucked it up when it had so much story potential..
Story? In Megaman? Here's all the story I want from Megaman: Dr. Wily (or any other villain, it makes no difference) has made a crew of evil robots. These robots are all in a lair full of smaller robots. Go kill them all. Then kill the main boss.

X actually touched on morality and the idea of a robot that was human on the inside, being able to think and choose. Having his own emotion and guilt. When you think about it, it's a pretty deep game, especially with the fact that all the mavericks are based on his design. That must make him feel pretty shitty inside.
I must have missed all that because the game I played was about shooting everything in sight. And occasionally some words pop up on the screen, but they can be skipped in like 5 seconds.
I must have missed all that because the game I played was about shooting everything in sight. What do I expect from gamers though, no offense.
I'm of the school that believes stories are not welcome in my games unless they don't interrupt the fun I'm having. Like in Half-Life 2 where you can throw shit around Kleiner's lab and act like an ass while he gets the teleporter ready, or like in Bioshock where you can listen to a tape recording while shooting mutants. I don't like it when they're all "ok, you got to shoot some bad guys, but now it's time to stop all that and read a bunch of text explaining why you need to shoot more bad guys"
I like it when games have stories, but that's just me.
You missed one.
I like it when games have stories, but that's just me.
I will tolerate a story as long as they don't sacrifice gameplay time to implement it. Like if a football game on TV had to be paused every two minutes or so, so they can explain to the viewers the long-standing rivalry of both teams, how they came to be formed, and the origin of the game of football. Or it could be like they do now, adding little details from time to time via commentary while the game is played continuously in the background.
Tron Bonne was the best in the entire series imo. Next up was Legends 1 and 2, then the classic megaman series. I don't dare touch the shitty next gen battle network games.
Tron Bonne was the best game I ever played, ever.
Thread music should be this: And I personally think the Megaman games are awesome, it's good they still keep making the 8-bit games as they were the best of the series.
Like you said before. Awesomeness of megaman is in how simple it is. ->Start game ->Choose Difficulty ->Choose Stage ->Kick ass No shitty tutorial or anything. Just plain platform shooter that rocks cocks.
Megaman 10 was too easy. The characters are a little more on the lame side. Basically it feels like Megaman 3 when 9 felt more like 2. 2 being superior to 3.
Heh, that explains why I prefer MM10 over 9, because I prefer 3 over 2 also. Apparently Inti Creates is currently working on a game that is said to be 'climactic'. While it's probably ZX3 I'd like to see a game that connects the X series with Zero because that's the missing link I want to see covered the most.

I like it. Alot.
Necessary bump. http://kotaku.com/5588943/mega-man-gets-multiple-new-looks-including-some-familiar-faces I figured since the name is MEGAMAN Universe it should go in the megathread
Mega Man 9 is my all time favorite Mega Man. I do own a NES and I played my PAL Version (Slower gameplay, music that sounds horrable) of Mega Man 2 but I think Mega Man 9 is more well designed.

When i'll have more info about it, i'll add it to the list!
is that the megaman universe thing? looks weird... i heard it's another psn/live title, which is a shame.
No, ZX is completely another game, it's for DS You had ZX and ZX advent. And now they're working on the 3rd one.
