They are important, they do DPS, however they aren't the end all DPS class.
You all HAVE to watch this movie. It's pretty fucking awesome and from probably one of the best machinimators of this time, BaronSoosdon. Expect to see it around WoW.com and maybe even MMO-Champion soon.

I had to stop watching when the Tauren guy pulled out a portal gun.
Just lost Lucky Old Sun to a freshly 80 DK in crafted PvP gear. When I asked him if he had a tanking spec he said "No but this is quicker than my mace."
He was holding a two-hander.
