My idea is pretty simple. Put all the region files into the shared dropbox folder then create a NTFS junction link from the regions folder to the dropbox folder. Then share the dropbox folder so that whenever someone saves, it's updated. Not live but it have online-region play. With neighbour deals and such. It would have to be a trusted group of people because there would be no security on such a system. People could visit other cities and do shit to them.
I don't think it would work for people who don't have the expansion though. Although it's an awesome idea.

What is the best mod for SimCity 4? I'm going to start playing it again but would love some extra buildings to mess around with.

I shall try this test idea.
Yeah I play on easy and have to reinstall but I'm up for it as well...
Played 3000 absolutely loads. May have been the most played game on my first pc. I need 4000, it looks fantastic. To amazon! This game was all about good starts, if you managed to make people happy at the start it would be great, but a bad start makes it torture.
Rush Hour expansion was the best by far... Hours of fun was had.
You sir, have just encouraged me to crack open my SC4 box and install it again...Ah nostalgia.....and in the mean time, I'll have to hunt down my SC 3000 disc...Thank you. You brought back my child hood!
I love SC4
I'll try to find some pictures of my massive simcity 4 city, that actually is going plus :v: [editline]09:53PM[/editline] Okay not massive, 96k people or so, but god damn i put subways everywhere, and even they are red on transit, bus stations in about EVERY corner, and arghhh people still get to complain about transit. I'm sorry but that is no way massive. I once somehow became so addicted my city got 600K, it soon grew to a lot higher when I installed rush hour. I had balloons and shit everywhere.
Highest I got was 200k.
Highest I got was 10k :sigh:

SimCity is difficult as hell for me. The only real way to get a large efficient city up and running is to plan wayyyy ahead, even before you start the game.
I loved Simcity, particularly 3000. Built many brilliant cities with that game. However, I couldn't get into SC4 because it was a bit too 'hardcore' - it was more about balancing out different factors and as a result it was incredibly difficult for me to build realistic, beautiful cities. You can see from the above examples - their cities are perfectly balanced, but they look artificial That said, having read the diaries on Simtropolis, it is very possible to build functional, realistic and pretty cities - but you've got to work at it
Well me and Darkness_2 have set it up and the drop box system works... I'll let him do the talking though >>
I remember when I was buying this for cheap at Target last winter and I ran into the girl ive been in love with since 8th grade and I told her I was getting it a for a cousin when I was really getting it for me :v: cuz ya'know girls think guys who play video games are weird

We have 3 cities so far and are using the New York region. It's working alright for now. I'll post instructions on setting it up later tonight.
