they don't lock onto ground vehicles they just get a box that tells them the engine is hot. there's no locking on with anything except jet vs jet or jet vs heli and that's with missiles that aren't accurate if just spammed randomly.
When no one else is complaining about jet vs ground vehicles there's probably something wrong with you and not the game but hey that's where PR comes in right? Vanilla, the version that got people hooked on bf2, must be broken. I must be a fanboy when I'm usually being a critic of something retarded EA/Dice has done.
I really miss PoE2, I fucking loved that mod but no-one plays it anymore.

Just throwing it out there. I know a lot of good servers that are usually populated.
I wouldn't mind playing with people from FP as long as we speak english, every game I've went into has been someone speaking French/Spanish/Russian and probably Swahili.

The battlefield series has taken alot of my money over the years, 1 1942, 1 'nam, 1 BF2, 2 deluxe BF2's, 1 bf2 EF+AF pack, 1 compleate collection BF2, 1 DD 2142, 2 2142, 1 2142 NS, BBC1 and BBC2... i think thats it
and yet no BF4F beta =/ (not sure i would want to play it anyway, looks like it will be like heroes)

You must be quite out of touch or play on terrible servers then. Teamplay (as opposed to every man for himself) is a key strategy that happens all of the time even on public servers, though mostly on squad-level, but it often gets a lot better than that. Maximum teamplay level is achieved when you get a commander with experience that makes squad micromanagement effective; you don't need mods to end up there (though I'm sure its easier since players who play mods are more serious about it).
Teamplay is easy, join a squad with people with mics. If you dont have a mic, do everything they say without comments or questioning. I never had a mic so I was always the right hand man, like Boba Fett who probably said about 5 words the whole Star Wars series.

i remember playing project reality on some czech server and i got in a STRYKER with some guy
i was gunner and we fucked shit up for like an hour straight before we ran into mines
just remembered my months of hosting a BF2 Sandbox mod (very basic sandbox that allowed you to build static creations with props) server, it was tiring, made some friends that i kinda lost contact with when every one moved on (to garry's mod)

I don't think there is a way. You can only turn them down a bit, if I remember right.

You can actually turn it down completely.
Aswell as make custom localisation files, so oyu can have people say Enemy wheelbarrow spotted! for spotted tank etc
Anyone here still play 2142? That one was my favorite BF game. Especially Titan mode. I wish I could find my copy of it, Northern Strike is going to be made free in the next patch.
