They put all sorts of kickass references in that show. For example, in one of the early episodes, they put a Katamari reference. There was a giant ball composed of people/objects rolling through town just like a katamari ball, and Katamari music was playing in the background.

Uh, no. Not once is the phrase "The Cake is a lie" uttered, and the cake isn't mentioned aside from in the opening, what gave you the idea that Mario invented a phrase that wasn't even in the damn game?
