I watched this live and he left for like a full minute. Their alistar ganked twice when he came back, practically nullifying the advantage they had.
Not sure how the game ended up, I left after that.

That explains it.
Your team had a rough early start, team started having horrible morale, flaming started, got worse from there. Games tend to be lost that way if you don't do anything about it fairly fast (not even possible in some situations).
and so the answer is: you didn't have enough impact with your 9 kills or whatever
do something if you get an early advantage, go roam and gank more

also if you're playing some guy with lots of single target damage it's only good to lump up all the kills on yourself if just one guy on the enemy team is obscenely fed
if they are all fairly equal it's better to give kills off to your teammates as well

So i actually met one of those fucktads who go "adc or feed" in ranked
kind of put me and my friend off so we both instalocked ad carries and spewed a few stupid quotes before dodging.

Last fight before they surrendered all 5 of them jumped on me (1v5) and I killed 3 of them before I died. It was a beautiful game since Taric got me the first 3 kills up top and went to jungle so I just rolled up on top lane and built as much hp as possible just for fun.
I can't bring myself to start a game before bed for fear it will depress the shit out of me
this game is a massive fucking vice
