I think I'll main support for my five-man premades since it seems like I've gotten horrible over the last month for some reason. I fail at cs farming and fighting other top champions. I can't gank worth anything as a jungler. I don't really like being squishy ap carry, I don't own a """viable (ranged)""" adc, so that just leaves me w/ support.
What supports have a big impact in the laning phase (e.g. taric's stun, leona going ham, etc)?

That's been my experience, anyway. Your mileage may vary, and obviously Darius can carry if he murders in the laning phase.

i would rather have 30 mins - 1hr of not playing league to having to spend 20 minutes watching my team get shit on

Our Malzahar wound up going AD Top lane against two guys while 4 of us went mid.

If you get zoned 1v2 on top just wait for the farm to reach your tower, farm your wave and tell the jungler to gank while the enemy is overextended. You'll have a good level advantage so you should have no trouble killing them both with a gank.

It kinda depends on how shitty your teammates are, like on low elo you might just 1vs5 with darius, while at higher elo skarner might be a great carry because of this catching ability.
Like if your teammates are uncapable to react on blitz grabs and skarner ults its pretty useless to play those champions.
Mid is generally the easiest lane to carry with mainly because its position in the map allows you to carry other lanes and still get sololane XP unlike the jungler, generally good champoins for this are ones with high mobility high cc and fast pushing.
Think off: Kassadin, Twisted fate, eve.
Eve destroys at lower Elo's simply due to people always overextending and she bursts like mad. You'll get insanely fed off ganks.
It applies to every elo mind you
