Goddamnit, almost had my tenth Pentakill. I was playing as Renekton and a teamfight started in Baron's pit. Sliced 'n Diced in and popped my ult. Ult aura, Sunfire cap, E's and Q's were enough to get a near instant triple kill. Sticking around got me another kill and at that point everyone left the tank alone for me to kill him. Sad to say my damage wasn't enough to kill him in time for a penta...

If you actually look at his skillset you can see why people find that he's a pain to fight against
It's rediculously hard to force him to leave lane without ganks if you're melee simply because mid game he has 315 (+1.05 bonus AD) + passive damage aoe skill on a 5 sec cd and 40 mana cost
Compare this to champs like Pantheon and Olaf, who can actually rum oom
Also his W is too overloaded, it slows ms AND attack speed
AS slowing is bollocks when the skill does a good amount of damage and has another effect, you already have more than enough damage from other abilities, and you generally fight champs whose damage output is partially dependent on AS

What the hell? I knew it crits and slows but Attack Speed debuff? I play him and I didn't even know that. That's pretty bullshit.
That being said, I have found out that Volibear can outplay Darius rather easily... as with almost any top champ. Maybe the Dariuses I face are just bad though.

I have like 1200 wins and the highest W/L I've had is like 10 wins more than losses

Tank or tanky DPS depending on the team setup.
I don't know why but I tends to lose as Ziggs during laning phrase, then I somehow managed to get back into the game mid late game.
i have almost exclusively been playing tanky dps bot with aggressive support
it is actually quite good
I played Draven top against a Yorick once. I dunno if he was a bad Yorick but it seemed to work pretty well.

tanky so forces yorick to play passively

Man, I'm usually always first pick - it sucks knowing you have to choose support or be countered really hard. While I can understand the mentality of choosing someone like Mid first without caring, I don't know why they bitch about being countered when they should know they would be countered in the first place.
It never helps that everybody in solo queue have no idea how to talk either, so it makes trading damn near impossible. Anything I ask is like speaking to a brick wall...
