Malzahar is hysterical with smartcast.
So much easier to make full combos and own faces.
I only smartcast certain champions
I'm comfortable and perform damn well with how I roll, so, iunno. Changing isn't an issue to me
Attack speed Vi works pretty well to be honest. The W proc is so fast and explodes the enemy, it's awesome.

the champion i played for most of my 1-30 was urgot, so i got used to smartcasting things very quickly
honestly i cant go without smartcasting anymore. its just so.. good

Riven Q and E going in the direction of your cursor = smartcast.

it depends really...both are really good, so olaf if you mostly play top/jungle, ezreal if you prefer ad carry

I heard Olaf is kind of hard to play though.
I'm more looking for a champion like Darius, an all-around good and easy champion to play.

I perform damn well with phantom dancers Hecarim in 900 elo.
Doesn't mean it's good.
Smartcast is obviously and arguably superior(excluding some spells like rumble's ult that are just horrible).
However, I don't think you [B]must[/B] use it to do well because there are a lot of other aspects in LoL you can improve like farming, map awareness, builds and it's not really a huge advantage in most cases but on some AP carries, like I said, you do get a huge advantage because of how fast you can make full combo.
Anyway, saying you play better without smartcast is simply wrong(if you know how to use both, of course).

I'm in the same boat right now, been looking to get both for a few days. I'm maining Vayne at the moment so I don't know whether to go for Olaf just so I have a melee to play, but at the same time Ezreal looks pretty fun.
Smartcast everybody, except for certain things like Karth wall, and I'm bad at smartcasting Anivia wall because I just plain suck at her. I wouldn't even play LoL if it weren't for smartcasting to be honest. Just something about that smooth feel is why I binge-play it over Dota 2.
Rumble's ult works fine with smartcast. You just hold the button down and then choose directionality before releasing.

I kind of want olaf just for the awesome axe and true damage abilities, but then again the ult on Ez is so much fun in the sense that it just goes across the entire map and deals shitloads of damage.

its very helpful in most cases because a lot of e's are dashes and nonskillshots (taric stun or singed fling for example) but i prefer to aim my q w and r

and then come the rare occasions when you accidentaly fat finger the R key and become really sad because you just wasted your awesome ultimate

Dota 2 has smart(auto)cast.
The only button I ever fatfinger is my flash button. Almost universally, it's when playing an ADC and I flash into the middle of their team. ):
