idk if you build him like any other ad carry his damage output is the same, the mitigating factor is the lack of an escape which I mitigate with fmallet for buttloads of health and it helps with chasing down lone people which his axe is useful for
i find draven's strongest in laning phase at just being a complete bully to the other AD carry

Why would you build a Frozen Mallet on a carry, you're gonna get instagibbed anyway if you get caught.
The problem with Draven ARE his axes. Don't even bother with them in a teamfight, positioning is everything, you'll just get demolished. He's a monster in lane though, that passive really hurts.

pretty much anyone who isn't a tank gets instagibbed if you get caught
Even if you're going to be a big pansy and refuse to use axes out of the laning phase, you should at least get 2 axes readied before any big teamfight so you can get 3 free axe attacks, 80% of his ad as bonus damage and the bleed passive is more than worth it
Also if you're going to stand still and attack in a teamfight then just use your axes anyway, they'll land ontop of you and you'll catch them with ease
If you're moving around in a fight and trying to have a good position like you should be then you can still use his axes as they go wherever you want them to go, they aren't going to randomly fly into the middle of the enemy team unless you decide to make them do that
The damage boost from catching your axes is definitely worth it, it's not just an autoattack with 80% of your attack damage and an extra load of bleed damage, it's also a reset on your 40% attack speed and 60% movement speed boost

you should always have red on ad mid-late game, you don't need the slow, and you don't need the extra hp because of your lifesteal. skip the mallet, it really isn't good on any ad carry.

against any smart team, in the laning phase they'll poke you as you go to one of your axes. playing a minigame with yourself in the middle of a teamfight in order to do the most damage is also kinda dumb.
aside from that, he's pretty fun to play and can pub stomp quite well if you have a support with a stun like blitz.

Should do 30-40% of their hp and is impossible to counter unless they have a stun
His passive reapplies so it does 60 + (8 x level) dot

The first bit isn't really true, if they're trying to poke you as you go for axes you can just make the axe land further back from them or behind the minion wave, and when they do have an opening you already know where they're going to aim so it's not difficult to dodge and sometimes still catch the axe
Also he does a little more than pubstomp, Aphromoo plays him in tournies and destroys everything, he's even beat TSM in a scrim with Draven

Just wrecked a game of twisted treeline as AD Nasus, god damn his q hits hard with a trinity force. Managed to win before they could surrender because I rushed a trinity force and was 3-hitting their towers. Kayle and Nasus slows at the same time also kinda ruin an AD's day
