8 days ago they took away my name since it was "Leona" and it was a forbidden name, but for some reason it became available with the Summoner Name clean up, and Riot gave me the name tempname766, so I submitted a Support Ticket.
They finally responded, and apologized for the trouble. They gave me 5000 RP for free, plus 650 RP for the name change and every Leona skin as well :dance:
Oh, and I can get another free name change if I want

So basically what this means is that we’re going to have to change your Summoner name as all champion names are licensed by Riot Games. There are some things I want to clarify before we move on. We have a pretty large champion design team now which involves a lot of people putting their minds together to create awesome champions along with giving them the coolest and most appropriate name possible.
You may be asking yourself: “Well if you knew someone had the name Leona why couldn’t you just name her something else?” It’s a totally valid question. With League of Legends being as popular as it is with a player base that is growing so rapidly it’s going to become increasingly difficult to find a name that is not used by any given member of our community. Also we want to give that champion the best name possible and we wouldn’t want to fall back on a lesser name because a player already has that name.
While other game companies may say: “That’s how it is, sorry” this is not the way we want to treat our players here at Riot Games. Ultimately we will have to change your name, we as players completely understand how that’s a negative player experience for you, and for that we truly and sincerely sympathize and apologize.
Which brings me to the good news. Obviously, and while we don’t normally do this, you will be free to pick your new Summoner Name.
In that case I will ask you to provide me with a list of 5 Summoner names that you would like to use and I’ll grant you the first one that is available.

Well, I'm happy with the 5k RP but having the name Leona was pretty unique and was probably worth more than the 5k RP imo but w/e I'm glad they at least gave stuff in return for the inconvenience

It is on my main account... I changed my Main Account's name from WORST LEONA to just Leona when the names got cleaned up.
Now it's WORST LEONA again though, changed it back after they took away Leona from me.

Katarina's spell leveling goes R>W>Q>E. W is for clearing. You use your Q to poke OR to last hit if you're getting fucked out of your lane. Q doesn't gives the damage W does because W has such a short CD its insane.
Kat's runes can vary but I have two rune pages dedicated to her for either armor (AD mid) or an AP mid.

for AP rune page: I use 5 flat MR seals and 4 AP per level seals because the MR really helps for surviving AP poke and the AP per level is pretty nice too.
For Masteries I run this because it gives me the most damage and survivability to last through laning phase.

With these masteries and runes, using my AP rune page, you have 49 MR at level 1, which is huge, and thats without taking the AP/MR/MS rune page I use sometimes.
My build might not be most efficient, but my goal is to simply survive laning phase because honestly her laning is shit. Against any competent ap mid, she will lose hard and most of the time lose trading because your full combo involves Q>E>W in a quick burst. The damage is big, it really is level 5 and onwards, but if you dont want to go all in, your damage will be small because like I said, you're maxing W, not Q.
Nor will any idiot take free poke (this is all assuming your lane opponent isn't 900 elo). So they'll be able to out poke you if they actually trade back with you.
For build I start boots 3 pots, but flask and pots/wards is an option too. I try and rush into a haunting guise because it gives you pen, hp, and ap which for all early game, is really damn good. At the point you get your haunting guise, you should be level 5 or 6, and if you're smart. You should be roaming. Kat needs to roam and help other lanes because her W clears so fast. Clear and push mid, and going to bot lane at level 6 is always good if your support has some hard CC (Taric, Janna, Alistar, Nami, Leona).
Level 7-9 should be getting stronger and by then you should have sorc boots and haunting guise. Some people go Abyssal scepter right after this, but I honestly don't find it to be able to max her damage. The AP ration on her ult is HUGE, and she becomes her strongest @ level 10-14. This is where I make a mad dash for DFG. The DFG is a big item, making the gap between your 2nd and 3rd item big, but the jump in power is so big that when you get it, you should be able to 2v1 and abuse your resets because the DFG amplifies your single target damage.
DFG is 100 AP and 15% CDR (CDR is good on kat, her passive may sound good, but to be honest in team fights, if your burst ends and you only killed one person, it wont be enough to reset your ult completely or kill the 2nd with QWE usually. You need the CDR.)
On top of that, DFG's range is same (or larger?) than your Q ability, making it easy to start off with. DFG amplifies your damage burst [B]by 20%[/B]. I can not stress enough how helpful this is to team fighting. It's not about getting the kill in the team fight, its getting the reset. Taking down the squishies is good because they're usually the biggest team fight factors (Ashe ADC, Veigar APC), but they also get your reset off, which if you're good at combo'ing, can lead to a pentakill.
In teamfights it really depends on your player skill. Katarina can either by the intiatior because one ADC is out of place, or she can be the clean up crew as I do

(not boasting, just showing what I mean by "clean up crew". Also notice how I wait until her zhonya's is down before I go in, though it becomes irrelevant because I instead to start with Nocturne)
Another tip is always carry 1-2 wards. I cant believe how often I over extend and fuck up. The ward>E flash is just too useful. It also helps over walls. If you have flash up you can probably cover the entire mid lane if you >flash>ward>E
