The most effective Elise build I've seen people use so far is building her as a tanky AD solo top.

I don't know how her invuln works but when she uses it she flies up into the air and then this huge red circle appears (think Pantheon ult's indicator). You see that on the floor in a teamfight and you'll immediately know whats up. In the thick of battle you may not notice Fizz or Vlad go into their invulns, but with Elise yo will definitely see it.
Her damage seems lackluster if you aren't prepared for it, and once everyone does prepare for it (in about another few days, maybe hours), then it'll be Syndra all over again.

Yea I had an elsie jungle on my team last game, didn't go over too well but we still won because we had an incredibly fed darius.

Just played a game Elise ad carry and it works very well to be honest.
He laning phase is awesome and I beat a Cait - Blitz lane as Elise - Taric
Her teamfight isn't brilliant though as you're basically a melee carry from then on since spider form is your main damage.

Playing Elise as a jungler is about as effective as playing Diana as a jungler.
Elise top is more reliable though imo.

diana is a great jungle, only bad thing about her is that she can't really gank before she hits 6

if she can get a gank from behind them, her aoe pull is enough to at least burn a flash
warwick honestly isn't all that good for pubs imo
too slow to get to 6 quickly enough, can't do anything in that time

I would argue that Rengar is best in the jungle as his clearing time is really fast, high sustain, and his ganks are amazing.

idk I haven't played a bunch of rengar, I like kha'zix's kit much better
