I'll elaborate a bit more.
Irelia is insanely good at coming from behind, and abusing farm. Trinity force will make sure she will be tanky and output a LOT of damage due to her hiten style and bladesurge. You need to CONSTANTLY apply pressure, and i don't mean in her lane directly, but indirectly. Get all her turrets, THEN start roaming and forcing 5v4's while she farms, forcing her to stop farming and not being as good. If you let her free farm and you don't take advantage of that to take objectives, you will lose. That's why she stomps lower ELO's, people don't know how to capitalize on the advantage they created themselves.
TL;DR. Shut her down, get her tower, force 5v4 teamfights and get other objectives.

i mean yes hes a good support but holy shit have you played him top
i just went top vs jayce and lost the lane phase but at one point i killed him and literally managed to 100-0 his turret before he got back, and after that when my team was doing 4v5 teamfights i was pushing top and bot, ended the game with 5-6 tower kills just by punching the fuck out of them
BEEP BOOP FUCK THE TURRETS is not a joke blitzcrank will literally put his fist into the towers tender buttocks if you give him the chance
I was kinda hoping that Zed would not be another presumably AD assassin, but oh well. He might actually do physical damage but scale with AP, but I dunno.

fully built manamune blitzcrank is terror but he has 0 sustain, doesnt really do much damage early if you dont max q and his god-mode build is quite expensive
he does set up ganks reeeeeally well though
Rushed Madred's on Rengar because their Mundo was getting fed as hell. Worked out surprisingly well, went 18/7/5 by the end of the game.
