Anybody know the name of that awesome documentary about American cencorship? It was fascinating, all about how they have no problems with violence but sex in movies is such a huge taboo. It was really really good.
Then don't play 17+ games when you're 12?
Funny, seeing as you completely missed my point. I'm actually 17, but it pisses me off when I can't sit down and relax and enjoy a game for fear of being walked in on by parents / brother / sister whilst in a cut-scene that I CAN'T help but watch.
Makes it awkward because my dad will eventually play it.
Religious nuts and moralfags get upset
Because old people still hold all positions of government that have power over morals. Once all the crusty bastards who were raised by their tea-totaling grandmas and then raped by their uncles die, we might see some social development.

Oh so it's unskippable. That's different.
What game is it?
Nudity in video games is unnecessary and will always feel like a crowbarred-in trick to get dim 10 year olds to check it out. "Hey, I've got this new game; I have no idea what it's about but there are naked people in it!!".
It should still be allowed if it has a point though. Censorship is dumb.

There was a mild sex scene in Assassins Creed II, which was embarrassing when my dad hopped on and played. Things like that that end up making a game uncomfortable, rather than enjoyable. It's no fun sitting there wishing for the cut-scene to end before your parents come in. My 360 is in the family room.

Assassins Creed II is a 15.
What really annoys me is the fact that most games with blood are rated M.
Setting: A creative developer conference hall. They are devising ideas for a new game.
Developer 1: And, at this point, the character should accidentally give himself a paper cut...
ESRB Employee: OH NOES! BLOOD?! We'd better rate it M.
And there are games with nudity, they're just all rated AO.
When i say societies' warped think of it like this.
The map of things moral and not moral is a large square.
The x and Y axis are labelled sexuality and violence.
The first corner contains neither of these things and is completely moral. The other end contains excessive amounts of violence and sex and is defiantly immoral.
The more you move on either axis the more immoral it becomes.
So in theory if you have a mediation of both sliders you can have a very artistic game that's not exactly immoral. E.G a game about a poor slumdog who sides with the wrong crowd to earn his way in life, ends up in a relationship with a middle class girl but due to a conflict amongst the gangs all his freinds and family are put at risk. It includes a few scenes of intimacy between him and her. With a few artistic violent scenes.
Now we add in the factor of today's taboos. The slider that controls sexuaitly is removed completely. We now have a triangle in which sexuality is completely immoral. Yet you can still eviscerate innocent people and blow them into their component limb sections and the game is still acceptable by society. (E.G manhunt)
It's a case of nanny state. People think that just because it exists, children are going to be exposed to it and affected in the worst possible way.
So if i were to say that somewhere there are a group of monks who have renounced clothing an walk around their temple naked all day (and I'm sure there is) i would not be surpirsed if there was an uproar if said group became popular and opened up a monastery in America deep in the middle of bloody nowhere. Why? because everyone always thinks in worst case scenario even if the chances of it happening are one divided by Graham's number
And the real answer is, which mind you I've read in a book a few days ago:
Back in the late 19th century, the British Empire (or whatever you wanna call it, I'm bad at translating) and their leaders had strict morals about nudity, that woman should never provoke sexual tensions and all that stuff. These morals are still lingering lowly about from your parents and grandparents, and are slowly loosening again, studies said that in about 2-3 generations this will be totally out of humanity.
Rapeplay
Got the attention of several major feminist groups, the UN, and resulted in a number of reactionary laws being passed by the Japanese government which crippled the industry that makes such games.
Because game devs don't want soccer moms in minivans chasing them
Little late i guess but who said nudity is not allowed in games?
It's the developers that want to make profit from their games. If their game has nudity in it too many people would not buy it because of the high rating.
Game developers can do whatever the fuck they want with their games. It's up to governments around the world to ban them, and the consumers to buy or not to buy them.
It's like family guy. Fuzzy door productions have had alot of complaints about it making their children swear, make sexual jokes, etc. And seth mcFarlene sent a reply to one of them:
"Then don't let them watch it."
The GodFather 2 had nudity
Whoa, one boob shot with fist sized nipples.
I don't think that counts as nudity my friend
It might have been said, but if a game gets an A/AO rating, many retailers will not carry it. Thus, sales crash. Thus, the game is a failure in the developer's eye.
The ESRB seems to be letting up. You can purchase a DLC for The Saboteur that enables nudity. Other games have started including nudity and only receive M ratings. So hooray!
The void. And the statue isn't what i am talking about. I am talking about a actually women ingame naked.
The Void uses nudity for artistic reasons. It's not exploitative in any way and fits in perfectly with the tone of the story. In Germany, it got a 12+ for the uncensored version.
The problem is that you get a bunch of morally-uptight senators, new reporters, and soccer moms who think that video games are for children, and that seeing breasts or dicks will ruin their child's precious little minds.
Despite the fact that their children have been looking up fetish porn since they were 11.
Tests made by, ehhmmm, NCPP (National Child Pornviewing Protection) has shown that children are more likely to fuck their mothers, if they see porn, in games.
What about Dante's Inferno?
Why do you need violence in games, you might just watch some gore video, or go kill someone?
If we were still following our natural ways, we would never achieve such advancements. Though we still go to war for kills, though most of us doesn't walk around naked, some do...
Don't know if it's already been said, i'm assuming it was, but The Saboteur has a shitload of nudity.
what's it with you nerds blaming christians for everything you disagree with

In face we evolved and lost our hair so we began to wear clothes for no other reason than to keep warm. This was even before the greatest fiction novel ever created was released.
