So how exactly is it important to gameplay? Does nudity gives you more body armour, more health more speed? Does it makes you look smarter, wiser or braver? Do you character feel freedom from being naked while dodging bullets and rockets? One thing for sure Nudity = QUICK DEATH FROM BULLETS, RADIATION AND POISON DUE TO NOT WEARING ANY BODY ARMOUR OR SAFETY SUIT
since when do games have to be realistic?
Yeah, and non-mandatory romance has been hardly seen. I'm glad Mass Effect 2 is changing that.
North America says no to nudity just like Europe says no to violence. COUGH GERMANY
North America says no to nudity just like Europe says no to violence. COUGH GERMANY
Australia...
Because of the silly society.
This.
religion is anti social.
religion brings people together how can it be anti social
honestly, nudity is just awkward when you're playing around the family "oh god son why does princess peach have no pants i thought this was a nintendo game"
religion brings people together how can it be anti social
Which religion?
have any of you played GTA4 lost and the damned D:
Australia might close all borders when nudity games are being released. And there's always the community 'fixing' the lack of nudity. I can't think of a game that doesn't have nudity mods yet.
Honestly I have asked the same thing about this in more mediums than just games... Why is the human body more taboo than the utter annihilation of an life? Screw it... Back to my mags and gory games...
if there isn't nudity in a game, there will be a mod to add nudity to the game.
I always wished game developers would release 2 different versions of their games, the censored one, and then the "pure" version. I want to experience what the developers originally wanted me to, not what society thinks I should.
North America says no to nudity just like Europe says no to violence. COUGH GERMANY
Over here in the UK things are a bit different. This is coming from the country where I'm almost certain adults leave porn mags in the woods for children - young teens to find and thus start them on the path to maturity. Heck it's not like the porn rack in the newsagents is guarded and one of our most popular newspapers has porn on the third page. We rarely have incidents calling for X to be banned because it contains something horrid. The closet example i can think of is resistance: fall of man. There is a shoot out in a cathedral in Manchester and the Manchester cathedral went up in arms about it. They called for a ban and i think the judge basically said "Fuck off! It's only a game!" See we worry about more important issues like Paedophilia.
If you want porn in your games, buy rapelay, or download Fakefactory Cinematicmod. (I forget which version has the almost naked Alyx) [editline]05:49PM[/editline]
Which religion?
Buddhism.
We rarely have incidents calling for X to be banned because it contains something horrid.
What about the Mario Party recall due to copies having the word "spastic"
Nudity is allowed in games they just get a different rating
Theres porn fucking everywhere on secondlife, and giant men with 29" dicks SECOND LIFE IS THE ANSWER :smug:
Shake it, Baby!

Because a lot of people are awkward about sexual content, especially in videogames.
havent you ever heard of the game company illusion? google it
fuck censorship, and not only for boobs, but for blood too!
God of War III probably has the most nudity I've seen in a game so far. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/-contains-nudity-god-of-war/62767
Heavy rain had a hot naked shower scene and a glitch to keep the girl naked walking around.
I just can't understand people, why they don't allow nudity in videogames,
Because that's how we do things... in America. If you want to live in a place where things make sense, there's plenty of other countries to choose from.
havent you ever heard of the game company illusion?
Maaaaaaybe
I love all the white knighting in the thread, "Why would you WANT to see a naked character? I for one, would NOT," Bullshit. You want to see a boob the same reason you want to see a guys head explode from a particularly large caliber handgun bullet: Testosterone. Manly shit. Since we can't enjoy beer and cigars through the monitor, we partake in the other manly behaviors through video games. Tits and guns. Go ahead, tell me I'm wrong. Tell me you'd rather play Barbie Horse Adventures. My argument is somewhat similar for the people saying "you wanted to see naked polygons lol?" That's like saying "lol you want to see polygons of heads exploding?" Violence and sexuality stimulate the male brain immensely, why do you think Lara Croft is so popular? It ain't because of her personality, is it? Nudity in videogames isn't meant to act as pornographic material, it's there as a stimulus the same way exploding faces are. There are obviously porn games being made and released regularly, so there must be a market for it (mainly in Japan it seems). As for the relationship between violence and nudity in terms of censorship, I really have no idea what to tell you. I watched Underworld Evolution on cable the other night because I was bored, and I noticed that the 3 second nude scene was edited and a crudely drawn bra was superimposed on one of the naked vampire women. Cut to about an hour later, a guy is shoved into helicopter rotors and graphically slashed to pieces. This part was not edited at all. Why is graphic violence totally acceptable but a three second (not even) shot of a female breast warrants censorship? The same reason that a raven is like a writing desk.
Why is graphic violence totally acceptable but a three second (not even) shot of a female breast warrants censorship? The same reason that a raven is like a writing desk.
Edgar Allen Poe wrote on both? I think your analogy was lost somewhere.
Edgar Allen Poe wrote on both? I think your analogy was lost somewhere.
Sorry, it was a pop-culture reference. That new Alice in Wonderland movie (more like Alice in Snoringland) made a big deal out of the question "Why is a raven like a writing desk?"
