Any 8 series + card can run DX10, turn on "Enhanced full dynamic lighting" to get your options.
I am torrenting it. Nothing wrong with it, I paid for it, I should be able to play it! This will let me put it on my D drive, since Steam is unmovable. This way I will have plenty of room for it and mods. Can't wait!
Bought Clear Sky. Woo! I played all the way until that fucking MG at the cordon ripped me to shreds.

From there, find the guide in the little town by there, and get him to bring you to cordon center no blood needed

I'd keep one for out-of-combat healing in case you get hurt, otherwise sell other ones you come across.
i use the ones that raise endurence and raise health.

But the DX10.1 option (which I believe is ATI only?) was firstly available then shortly after became unclickable thats all
You're lucky that's all that became unclickable, my options menu as a whole is unclickable. Also, is mouse sensitivity ridiculously high for anyone else? Unless I turn it down to the complete minimum, it's way too much.
GSC started siding with ATI since Clear Sky. This is why you need a 64 bit operating system with a Radeon HD 5800 card to play Call of Pripyat at max settings.

Also to gamerkiwi my sensitivity in Clear Sky seemed to be pretty fast at the start but it fixed itself when I lowered it a bit (and the opposite in SoC). I also lost the Foilage AA option too but thats all so far

I do not know which faction to choose, Freedom seems a lot cooler, but their base in mis-organized and goals misguided. And yet on the other hand, Duty is doing the right thing and I like the discipline and large numbers. The choice should be obvious but I like the appeal of Freedom much more, yet with Freedom I feel a lot less safe.
Loner class is the best because the numbers far outweigh that of almost any other faction.
I just bought this, and I'll be able to play when I get back home (Jan 4th). How's the stealth in this game? Can you actually be sneaky?
Vanilla go Loner. OL go with ecologist since you'll be neutral with loners and friends with duty and freedom.

You must also consider the game was scrapped and rebuilt over and over. In the end the game still lives on past a lot of games. End of Story.

Hell, I've gone through so many playthroughs that I've lost track, and I [i]still[/i] haven't done all of the vanilla quests. But what pisses me off is the sheer amount of cut content. Prior to THQ's interference, there were [b]18[/b] enemies. The majority of those enemies that did appear in the game were also gimped. The bloodsucker had its bloodsucking animation cut, controllers don't climb trees or ambush players, etc. GSC created so much content that was eventually cut that they were able to recycle it in Call of Pripyat! They reused the swamps map in CS, and they were going to include the Generators map as well, but they [u]ran out of time.[/u] :Dawkins102: Modders have managed to port SoC in its entirety to build 2215, which had larger maps, more enemies, and more weapons than the final retail release. And then there's the whole Metro 2033 thing. /rant

What the hell is a birthmark, it looks like a graphic glitch.
I thought of it as a shadowy entity.
