I fee like a bad person for doing this...
Read only if you played Clear Sky:
[sp]At the part where you see Fang for the first time and he knock's you out and take all of your stuff I got mad. That is a big pet peeve I have with games, where you save up all of your stuff for a long time and then it's gone. Anyway, I loaded my save right before that happened, dropped all of my shit, making it a mountain of ammo, then let him take my money, then took all of my shit again. I feel bad because I cheated the game but I really hate loosing stuff I worked really hard for.[/sp]

[sp]If you spend all your money on food, you can sell the food back for the same value. So you don't have to lose anything.[/sp]

So, no one knows?

[sp]Did you know there's a mission to get your stuff back right after it's taken? They stashed it in a stash box and they're guarding it[/sp]

I want to kill it. Saiga-12 plus buckshot round, duty is proud.

Pfft, fuck Duty, that thing is going on my wall. I don't need no people making my Lonering less lonely.
I just got SoC and it runs like shit. I used the default settings and it lagged when I ran or shot my gun, so I kept bumping the settings down. Now I'm at 800x600, with all of the sliders all the way down, and it still fucking skips when I do anything.
Also, when I die and try to load my quicksave, it just loads my corpse right where I died with a crosshair.
What the fuck is up with my game?
Also, specs for the first issue:
2gb Ram
GeForce 8600M GT
Intel Core2 Duo T7700 @ 2.40GHz

Well there's your problem. Buy a graphics card.

I run plenty of other games fine. I can run GTA4 at 1440x900 at medium, shit I even got Crysis running on low at 1280x720 with an average of 25fps. I see no reason why this shouldn't be able to run smoothly on the LOWEST settings.

Wait, what? How the hell are you running anything like that on a chipset? Anyway, try running on static lighting. That oughta do it.

Use Static Lighting, not Dynamic
It's already on static. I have no clue how I'm running games, but I don't exactly question it.
It's a macbook pro from like winter 07.

This is the only game that DOESN'T run on my computer. Everything else runs fine.
Am I missing a patch or something? I'm pretty sure it's still at 1.0

Holy fucking shit that is awesome, thanks!
patch 1.000
Quit piratan bro, it's only two bucks. :colbert: Also, download the latest patch.
Try running the game with the -noprefetch line that should help a tiny bit.
And if its STEAM bought its on the latest patch.
Quit piratan bro, it's only two bucks. :colbert: Also, download the latest patch.
I have a steam copy, and it's version 1.0005, so I don't think it's fully patched.

Patch 1.0006 was recalled. 1.0005 is the latest.

So there's nothing I can do to make this fucking game run on my computer?
I tried -noprefetch in launch options, and it still ran for shit even on lowest settings.

Although the coolest thing about running it with no patches is that numpad + and - changes the time.
I wonder why there hasn't been any kind of mod that lets you do that again...

quit piratan almost everyone ITT, it's only two months.

No prefetch is useless unless used when running Huge mods like SMP and such, it stops the game reading files that aren't in Database files and uses ones taking priority in the gamedata, anything that isn't in the gamedata will be read from Database files, its just to lower the load on the engine, by stopping it loading 2 entire game contents at once so to speak.

Unless your gamedata folder is like 500KB, using -noprefetch will improve performance at least a little. That said, no point in using it when you're running it vanilla.
-noprefetch will also in some cases remove mipmaps from textures, which in turn can make your performance take a hit.

No Idea, my Amd Athlon 2800+ 2.1ghz, 1.5gigs Ram X1650 Pro runs Stalker, with static lighting but the actual sliders maxed out and at 1280X768, flawlessly. It stutters quite a bit when loading new things, but after that, around 45-60 Frames per second, and when there's around 20 people fighting it out, it'll dip to about 20ish, But running around, clearing houses of mutants, a few bandits and loners fighting out, Runs fine. The X1650 Is Equiv. of a GF7600 or so
The talk of Zone Photography gave me an interesting idea earlier. Camera as a new item to use for quests to get pictures.
i.e the barkeep tells you someone wants a picture of x mutant, you go get one, return with the film
It would be like a little photography minigame.
