Might be late but would it be possible to use that DoF feature on a input no strings attached?
If so apply it right when the Combines bust your head in and Alyx come to the rescue
Then a physics prop with glasses as its model should fly to a random location in the little room and you have to pick them up to be able to see clearly again
Maybe even go all the way with your realistic mode and make a putting on glasses animation, then have glasses flying of as a very random event only related to melee attacks and/or explosion

Not sure if this has been brought up before but in EP2 they detach the link between Flashlight and Suit power. Can we have this in our HL2? I feel they made the right choice in unlinking it. Doesn't effect gameplay greatly, makes it a nicer experience for players.

I vaguely remember there being a glowing bit on the original texture in the same spot.
And personally I don't really like the bolts on the hand plate.
Crowbar is ingame so is the arm although you cant see it. I got rid of the little light btw.

Like the approach you took with the crowbar. I suggest you make the USP Match look more like a USP match but still reminiscent of the default pistol.

the tip looks like grey paint instead of bear metal
the red part needs more of a scratched up look, especially where it transitions to bear metal

From what i gather all textures will be made HD
That is correct, all textures will be made into high-definition and certain models will be made higher polygon.

The stock textures are all blurry as hell! The dimensions of the original textures are 512x512 pixels. The new ones are all 2048x2048, greatly increasing the texture detail. Changing the stock textures also won't screw up the look of HL2. I'm keeping the textures as close as possible to the originals, unless changes need to be made to make them fit in certain areas of a map (which most likely they will all fit without changes).
