The citizen male hands for Gordon aren't needed because you don't interact with anything before you get the HEV suit. But they could be used for MP. Back to the HEV arms. I don't know what my opinion is worth but I think the design you are going for is a bit too blocky.
I kinda had the plan to have full body awareness in the mod, thus meaning you'd need a citizen body for Gordon at the beginning, though that could be done using the new citizen bodies (once they're created). Plus if it's possible, ladder climbing and "pick up" animations would be something I'd be interested in doing. That way, as stated by The Jack, you don't lift stuff "through telekinesis". Or just float around everywhere. Also, every opinion counts, I'm trying to build this mod mostly off of community feedback- something FF should have done.

For example, in Half life 2, you hold barrels closer or further from you based on which side you pick it up
Heavy WIP pic of Breen: [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/Cbn89.jpg[/img_thumb] Still has tons of stuff to do, and yes, I know the area around his eyes is off, and his forehead is too high.

Dennis Hopper?
But your other one was good...
It was ok, but it just wasn't high quality enough. Plus with the new things I've learned now, I'm going to try and make it look even more like Breen.
just some ideas - Zombies that you can tear apart. Using the l4d2 method hopefully (toned down)
Building on from this, would it be possible to integrate the L4D zombie kill animations to all characters? Part of the reason L4D was so re-playable for me was the wonderful ways you could spin the enemy around, blast them off their feet, send them flying etc.
- Extra skins for standard headcrabs, vorts and barnacles. So they don't all look the same. (and the vort skin hopefully more hl2 than episode 2... the amphibian looking vorts are odd to look at)
racist No, size doesn't work? Oh well.

I think there are a few models that you don't need to change. Main characters for instance.
CLOSED Here's a small "poll" Those who like the idea of changing Gordon's arms to be reminiscent of the NECA Gordon Freeman figure, rate this post: Those who prefer the original design, rate this post: [img_thumb]http://17f0418678386b4e6860-e4f9fcd924b589d19bf6ccc2802ea9aa.r66.cf1.rackcdn.com/f364bbcefcbf89e23c206f7ae941e60935fd1a35.jpg__620x620_q85_crop_upscale.jpg[/img_thumb] Ok, well, the 's have it! The original style wins. 41 to 3
I wish I was able to vote for this poll, but I'm happy with what we're going with. I didn't like how bulky the action figure's HEV suit looked. When I usually think 'future armor' nothing bulky really comes to mind unless its ment for really heavy hit. On the other hand, The HEV suit is a Hazard suit. It wasn't built for all around comfort, or at least the predecessor of Gordon's current suit wasn't. The Mk.5 looks more stealthy and sleek, just what I think something high-tech and futuristic armored suit should look like.

Breen's face looks way too smooth for an old man, and a bit fatter than I remember as well And the transition from his skin to his hair/facial hair isn't fantastic either
- Female Metrocops.
you wouldn't really know because of the voice distorter and the suit.
His hair and beard textures are a bit inconsistent. Goatee looks very HD while the hair and the beard connecting the goatee seems low quality. He has wrinkles around his eyes but the rest of skin looks fairly young.

I working on the edging of it to make it blend better and more realistically now. As for the rest of his skin, I'll try and make it look a bit more wrinkly and spotty (just not too much as Breen was never too wrinkly/spotty originally).
His cheeks seem a little too puffy. His face just looks all round :v:
**CLOSED** Ok, well, I decided to do another poll, just to be sure on this one. Should we make the zombies and Headcrabs look like the Gaming Heads statue, or keep more to the originals? Vote if you want us to make the more John Carpenters “The Thing”-ish GH statue version for the zombie. Vote if you want us to just make the original version higher poly. This poll lasted 32 hours. Gaming Heads statue- [img_thumb]http://www.videogamemm.com/blog/pics/HeadcrabZombie02-550x.jpg[/img_thumb][img_thumb]http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090527180426/half-life/en/images/8/83/Zombie_HL2.jpg[/img_thumb] -original **CLOSED** The Gaming Heads statue style has won 65 to 7!
For me, the zombies lost their fear factor after I saw so many of them in Ravenholm. There needs to be some freakish and visceral new mutations if that's ever going to be brought back, because right now I just look at them and say "oh hey it's a zombie" rather than "OH SNAP IT'S A ZOMBIE".

I also thought adding Gonomes into HL2, and also adding a few new variations would be cool too. I really like how the mod 1187 added variations like an armored Headcrab zombie, or the baby Headcrab zombies that exploded when shot, then you had to deal with all the little Headcrabs (though that could get pretty annoying at times, trying to find them all).

They explain it in one of their pdfs
Just use L4D's shirt color system in place of the zombie jackets, or something. They explain it in one of their pdfs
Just coloring it like in L4D2 wouldn't do it for the jackets. You'd actually have to make a second texture, as the jackets look far different from their white/green under shirts/sweaters. I think having bodygrouped Zombie models would be best, having bodygroups such as: jackets, arms, legs (as those could be shot off....but still not too sure about even adding that.), maybe some bodygrouped pants with one leg tattered, Rebel clothing, ect.
you wouldn't really know because of the voice distorter and the suit.
The voice distorter might sound more female though, because a woman is talking through it. The voice distorter does sound different according to the person talking (Barney has a different voice)

Have you guys brought up the Cremator to be added back in?
Have you guys brought up the Cremator to be added back in?
I can't really think how it would fit in well in HL2. I mean they were supposed to be manufactured by the children in City 17, as there are none in the final version of the story. But even if we changed that, would they really fit in the streets of City 17?

That and he has one of those little nostril dent things between his eyebrows. :v:

Maybe you could add cremator spray paintings in the sewers.
Might just be the lighting, but it looks like he has a serious sunburn. That and he has one of those little nostril dent things between his eyebrows. :v:
Probably because he superimposed the eye area on and didn't smooth that out yet. I'm not sure if you've replaced the cheeks yet, but I think that the contrast between the wrinkly eyes and smooth cheeks (high detail to low detail) makes his cheeks look puffier.
The reason there are no female metrocop sounds is to help players differentiate between the metrocops themselves (male) and the overwatch voice (female)
