I guess this is pretty obvious but zombies will wear City 17 citizen clothing now, right? Or are you going to do all kinds of them like Black Mesa (well, they had just 2, here we are talking citizens, Ravenholm, rebels, metrocops,...)?
Probably because he superimposed the eye area on and didn't smooth that out yet. I'm not sure if you've replaced the cheeks yet, but I think that the contrast between the wrinkly eyes and smooth cheeks (high detail to low detail) makes his cheeks look puffier.
No, I haven't done the cheeks yet, working on those as we speak though. Metrocop zombies is a great idea too!
Also maybe you could do somewhat a variation on the Combine Soldiers making a random one out of a group to be a squad leader of sorts with a decal or something. I think it would add a little extra detail.

Ravenholm zombies should wear different clothes. [editline]16th December 2012[/editline] As they were more of a rebel settlement, it's unlikely that they'd still be wearing the same blue jumpsuits.
Cremator should be burning bodies in Nova Propspekt
What about the street war though? the combine shelled while having troops attack rebel camps.
Also the later sewer levels, there was at least one combine soldier fighting off a group of zombies in one of those parts. Granted it was a Overwatch soldier, not a Metrocop though. Plus there were more headcrabs, and combine in the area too. Those eyes are just not dark enough, that or enlarge his pupils some. Just looks so weird.
Something looks weird about his eyes, it's hard to say exactly, but something just looks off...
Cheeks are way better, but the eyes seem a little too small and/or far apart... [editline]16th December 2012[/editline] Something about him makes him look cute, rather than villainous. [editline]16th December 2012[/editline] Definitely closer to completion though.
He looks a bit... shiny.

And I think this goes with pretty much every other character as well. It's really strange seeing even-higher definition eyes then their skin.
Regarding the difficulty, I always wanted it to be kind of like Deus Ex: HR's. Think something like this: Research Assistant (Gordon in a lab coat, Black Mesa logo in background) Sole Survivor (Gordon in HEV IV, lambda logo) Acquired Asset (Gordon in HEV V, lambda logo) One Free Man (Gordon in battered HEV V, aged lambda logo) Anticitizen One (Gordon in battered HEV V w/ grav gun, Combine logo) Kind of unnecessary, but better than the boring difficulty setup with only boring gray text accompanying it.
I really like this, but I was wondering if maybe you could put "Theoretical Physicist" is there somewhere? Maybe not, I mean it's great as it already is.
The bright eye color is very distracting, try darkening it. I think it might be useful to post HL2 Breen just so we can compare. It would be nice to have classes of Overwatch soldiers (SMG, shotgun, AR3, leader). I'm thinking modeling few details for each so it's not just a simple reskin but nothing to make them look completely different from each other.
It doesn't help that he looks surprised. Maybe a real in-game shot would help us see what's wrong. Also, I agree that the wrinkles need to be more distinct
I'm not sure if it's been discussed, but I would love to see trench coat combine. [img_thumb]http://images.wikia.com/half-life/en/images/7/75/Trenchcoat_CG.jpg[/img_thumb]

Maybe we could use that for one of the variations, stated by Marden.

[img_thumb]http://images.wikia.com/half-life/en/images/7/75/Trenchcoat_CG.jpg[/img_thumb]
Perhaps the coat should be shorter if it is included; imagine chasing somebody, then tripping up on your unnecessarily long coat, or getting it caught on a Barnacle's tongue. Around thigh-length would probably work best.
are you thinking on adding dynamic shadows?
Just wanted to give my 2 cents on the trenchcoat cop. I think that's an early concept and I think it's maybe too dark for the current style of HL2. And looking back at the HL2 Breen he actually doesn't look that old. He looks very healthy actually (which makes sense, he seemed like that kind of person that cares about his appearance). So I take back my comments and I think you shouldn't go too far with the wrinkles.
On second look, the wrinkles under the eyes seem too heavy.
Just a checklist for you when it comes to zombies... Citizen zombie, blue jacket, male Citizen zombie, blue jacket, female Citizen zombie, white jacket, male Citizen zombie, white jacket, female Rebel zombie, Green jacket, male Rebel zombie,Green jacket, female Rebel zombie, blue jacket, male Rebel zombie, blue jacket, female Rebel zombie,Medic, male Rebel zombie, medic, female Currently... Four models. a few textures. you could probably add a few features to this. Such as.. overlays Removal of sleeves. Internal organs, pixel deleter (or however it was that valve made the l4d2 gore system, there's a pdf online) apart from the wonderful chest wound and claws you could probably borrow the organs from l4d. Alternative headcrab textures( which is important, because i spend most of my time with zombies aiming for the face) Metrocop zombie, male Metrocop zombie,Female Zombines (that behave like normal zombies most likely) (shotgun,elite.. maybe even nova prospect) Free citizens. (unique clothes. However.. We assume that most people still wear citizen clothes) Also. I think it's important that The player has female enemies. It adds impact. Without Female enemies the player just mindlessly mows the enemy down. With females you get ideas like 'headcrabs don't discriminate between people' and that with metrocops the opportunity to change side is available to everyone.
women aren't going to be metrocops because they would be enforcing the control of their own uteri
I dunno, I'd imagine there's a woman out there who'd appreciate higher quality food and living conditions.
Big zombie post
Actually, if we utilize bodygroups, you'd need only 2 models, if I'm not mistaken. 1 male, 1 female, they'd have the refuge clothing by default, then a bodygrouped jacket, skingrouped green shirt (like they took off their white button shirts), rebel's metrocop vest and gun holsters, and then the ripped sleeves/pant legs. I dunno about the organ stuff though... Female enemies is a good idea, though I wouldn't add female Metrocops/overwatch, I'd add female zombies, and maybe bring back the Combine assassins. As for them not fitting in the current HL2 style, we can always change them to look more like the other cops. [editline]16th December 2012[/editline] Question- What should the bull squids look like? Should they be that sort of dark red like they were in the beta, with the thin, flimsy looking tentacles? Or more like the original HL1 version, but maybe thinner, like they're starving?
I dunno, I'd imagine there's a woman out there who'd appreciate higher quality food and living conditions.
apparently signing up to the CP's gets you lots and lots of simulated sex as well, so I figure some people would cave in eventually
As for squiddies, I think it's better to go with thin looking, showing that sewers are ain't rich on nutrition and explains their utter hunger when seeing anyone.
