I really don't care too much about the models as I do the maps. Will you guys be recompiling the maps for HDR?

Will there be ironsights in this? I know most of you hate Ironsights because of god knows why, but I find it a bit odd that Gordon is incapable of using the ironsights on the guns.

Well if the mechanics allow you to disregard ironsights completely like in Black mesa source, i have no objection.

I guess near the completion of the mod we could try and add optional ironsights.
Discussing Iron Sights this early in development isn't very practical since it doesn't even matter. Sure they can be a nice addition, but in a game like Half Life there isn't really a big need for it. It's pretty basic. But yes this isn't really necessary, but looking at those gun models it just made me think of this.

The lack of iron sights is to emphasize the speed and urgency in the gameplay.

You'd actually need to use 'iron sights' to aim in real life, or you'd almost never hit anything.

You'd actually need to use 'iron sights' to aim in real life, or you'd almost never hit anything.[/QUOTE] Aiming from the hip is incredibly hard if not impossible to do and hit a target on the first shot, but Gordon could adjust his aim while shooting to compensate, it's up to us to interpret this as what gordon does, its a mechanic the game just doesn't show for pacing reasons. They didnt use ironsights because it takes up too much screen space i dont think there's any canonical explanation it's just so the player knows what he's doing
