Me to bought it about an hour ago though only on 15%
I got it for $12 off the EA store, I'm usually running sniper ops on PR.
Vanilla is so flawed, play Project Reality as linked above.
I just bought it again, so I probably will (especially when I get my Novint Falcon working.)
haha same here dude. you get your for christmas too?
I played Project Reality and never went back to it seeing that the wait times just to get a fucking vehicle is stupendous.
You're not supposed to get a vehicle. Leave it to the experienced people in the correctly named squads. Join an infantry squad and have some fun.
I played Project Reality and never went back to it seeing that the wait times just to get a fucking vehicle is stupendous. True. Also I may join that TacticalGamer server, sounds great. Mind providing me your BF2142 soldier name so that I can maybe distinguish you from other players?
You see. Project reality isn't your average FIRST MAN THAT GETS A VEHICLE WINS! Not at all, only EXPERIENCED people are allowed to use vehicles. Like planes. In VBF2 everybody would be running for the jet, but in PR you can see NOONE running for the jet. Why? because it's hard to fly and if you crash it then the whole team loses a important asset and have to wait 40 minutes for it to respawn. Also, infantry combat is a big part of PR, usually to get to places, you can just ask a helicopter pilot to take you & team there. It's not hard.
Just bought it :3
I always kinda liked BF's Arcadeyness. So, I dunno if I'd enjoy PR
Alot of people will start playing now that its in the top sellers on steam (I bought it too, still downloading)
I do play it, but suck at it...
As we speak I am downloading the 1.5 patch
Stopped playing years ago because of the "Jump and press z, shoot" stuff :byodood: Playing with my friends some times though.
I played Project Reality and never went back to it seeing that the wait times just to get a fucking vehicle is stupendous.
That's the point, it's so people don't waste assets. Vehicles IRL aren't expendable and they're trying to show that.
True. Also I may join that TacticalGamer server, sounds great. I wish steam added Battlefield 2142. I like it a lot. Titan has great potential if BF2142 had a PR like mod.
Forgotten hope is amazing. Adds so much more beauty depth and weapons to bf2.
Are all these mods client side or are they server side? I've only played vanilla BF2

I just ordered it a few days ago. I had some money that I earned from Pay To Click's at CashLagoon with some EA Store promo codes I got it for $1.96 with free shipping. So, I'm just wondering, is it a really good game? It is almost 5 years old and I haven't heard much of BF2 recently but from what I've read, it was a pretty good game and even got some Game of the Year awards.

The mods are incredible and there are many overhaul mods from the war in Kosovo to the multiple battles set in AIX. Project Reality which is a pretty damn good rival to Arma 2 makes your team work together and fight together. AIX gives your player Rambo potential with a vast increase in armaments and new vehicles/planes/helicopters. Forgotten Hope 2 is a mod where you're in WW2, basically a souped up version of BF1942 but way fucking better than that. Then there is simple vanilla, which still has some small issues but it's fun as hell too. Also one tip, squads. Always try to be in a good one that works together and maybe has voice communication.

I play a lot of mods for other games and Battlefield Files at FileFront seems to always be active because every now and then stop by the Network sites to see what's new. So Battlefield 2 is like a Squad based game? I already know its mainly focused on Multiplayer. I haven't had a lot of experience with Squad based shooters other than Star Wars Republic Commando which isn't all that Squad based.
Reinstalling it now.
Not as much as I used to. I did play some Karkland the other day though, all the nade spam brought back some good memories.
I would if the fucking installer'd work. I bought the retail Deluxe Edition but whenever I try to install it, the installer locks up because I'm on a 64-bit OS. Fuck you, Battlefield! Goddamn Age Of Empires II works and this shit doesn't?
Should I reinstall it just for Project Reality, guise? Are the servers still laggy as hell?
As soon as it's done doing this shader thing thats going to take a couple hours, sure.

Do project reality and forgotton hope work with the steam version
Do project reality and forgotton hope work with the steam version
With project reality you need to replace your bf2.exe with that of a cd install for Pr to work I don't know about Forgotten hope.
Got the game for 15 bucks last year , I play it sometimes , havent tried PR or any other mods , cool game, lacks of teamwork
Ive played it for 6 years. Mainly BF2 Sandbox. I co-owned The =NYS= Community, one of the most played sandbox server owners.
