Will trial version be compatible with F2P update? I don't want to wait dling 3gb.
I'm not sure I like all these games going 'free-to-play*'. Sure, you can play the game without any money down, but microtransactions are just going to divide the community depending on how essential they are to playing the game to its fullest.
The character creator is the fucking best.
If you can still use your old characters I'll be very interested, I played the first month but stopped when the person I was playing with stopped.
I was playing this in open beta. Tons of fun. I almost shit my pants when they said free to play, then I saw there was "Silver" and "Gold" memberships.
Come on, doesn't City of Heroes give you enough money, Cryptic?

Also, I was able to play on there for free for quite awhile after the game went out of open beta, and I did not use any game cards or my credit card, it just let me on, until I emailed someone at Cryptic. They must've saw that my account was active without a game card or credit card on it. Dammit.

You can use your old character's, it just prompts you to edit them to fit the silver user quota or they lock the character untill you do, you keep your stats and items too afaik.
Previous owners/subs get special benefits or no?

Huh so they basically took out anything that made this worth playing over CoX for free players? Great work there Cryptic, continue being shit at making games!
I really like this game. But as all really long games, I have some trouble finishing it. My highest level hero is only level 20 or something. I never even got to the interesting Nemesis parts. I only have this problem with MMO's though, which is why I never really play them. Mostly due to the fact that you have to pay each month to play, and then I feel required to play a lot, even if I find it boring at times. I am also bad at MP games. Like to play solo for the most part, as I don't want to rush things.
But this... this had so awesome customization tools, so my girlfriend talked me into getting it. The lifetime sub one. Yay. :unsmith:
But yeah, it is a really cool game. Maybe I should play a bit more these coming days.

Oh look. Because there is only ONE web seed and it will take over 48 hours to get atleast one complete copy out there before it disconnects and never reconnects to the swarm for the new downloader, you need to use the old one. Yes you will have to patch like crazy but this is faster.

I can't manage to get in the server. Mid-loading the server simply won't respond.
Must be the server's issue because I can connect to everything else in the game fine.

I've been playing Lotro for a while, and not seen anyone do that.
Bought this at release, does anyone know if my character will have been wiped or can i just continue?
Unfortunately the game is an eye sore. I get the comic book look but they over did it so much that it's hard to stare at for long periods of time.
Also I hate the that you can mix and match powers. Sure it's cool to have options but it doesn't give roles. I like roles.
But i've only played beta back in the day.

The game is now profession-based. There's one skillset you specialise at. No powers to choose on your own at the very beginning.
For example, my character is a blade profession.

Is power customize paid only , or it was removed completly?
