Nah, it'll just re-direct you to the website, so it's best to just go on the official website and download it from there.
Whoever the guy is that decided you have to download this via this god-awful downloader, I hate him.
No really, why can't I just download it with my browser, or maybe an official torrent or something? This thing is incredibly slow, half of the time refuses to work, and hogs up way more bandwidth than it should.
Also, it seems you can not reliably pause or break off the download halfway, or it might just refuse to work when you start it up again.
In short, to the guy that decided this downloader is the only way: FUCK. YOU.
I got this all DLed and installed and stuff. I'll probably check it out tonight. MMOs aren't really my thing, but it's free so I may as well give it a shot.

Yeah. I just let mine DL overnight. It eventually picked up to around 2 mb/s for me though after a bit so hopefully it'll spike up more and more for you as well.
I just made it download via a (non-official) torrent on my desktop, and via the downloader on my laptop, which actually has more reliable internet than my desktop, to see which wins.
The downloader sits at a comfortable 0% with 1 kB/H (no, I am entirely serious) against the torrent's 9.1% at ~70 kB/s. I think I can venture a guess as to which of these will be done faster.

I've been using the trial download I got through Steam a few days before it went free, and I can still launch it and play just fine.

Not a fan of this game after trying it out. The character creation had me laughing my ass off though, I'll admit that. That aspect alone made it worth the DL for me.

Used this to download and it worked, just had to update the launcher once installed which was around 300mb and is working fine.

You DNS must suck major ones, with the downloader they provide I get 500 kb/s
Meh, I downloaded it off Steam and it took me 40 minutes. Granted, it took me another half an hour to update.
I'm really bummed they took out the more unique travel powers like digging and ice flight. Like hell am I going to pay 4 bucks for each. It pretty shitty that I can't have a unique powers list either. They pigeonhole you into archetypes rather than letting you mix and match again. My avenger character got to be pretty unstoppable at points when his shield completely refilled his energy after two attacks. Now it can only catch guys on fire. The two character limit also drove me to delete all my toons short of my main guy. But coming in green to this game, it's fucking awesome for a free to play.
If you buy a subscription to the game you better fucking be able to mix and match again

It is possible that they have only one server, optimized for US use. I don't know, I didn't research it. Fact is, the downloader is the only 'legal' way to download this, as they provide no alternatives, and judging from this thread and some Google searches, I am not the only one with problems. I also mentioned earlier that the speed is not the only problem I have with this downloader.
Whether the fault lies at my DNS or not, this is just not an acceptable way for a company to distribute their game.
And I was wondering why the MMO thread was dead despite the F2P offer.

My number hotkeys for the abilities stopped working for some reason. Now I have to either click on them on the bar or use the numpad. Why did they start doing this? Same goes for the travel power hotkey.

press all of your modifier keys (ctrl, shift and alt)
Sometimes if you hold one down when going to loading screen it'll think you are still holding it and will refuse to use powers etc, I had the same problem in this game and I've had it in a ton of other games too.

You can. I bought a month to really try it out and what not (Seeing as how the game is now free to download and I am a bit of an impulse buyer). It's really quite fun so far. I've really enjoyed just making every combination of skills ever.
Is the guardian role with it? It's the balanced role, standard everything.
Anyone want to group up for the ironclad defence? I can't solo black talon.

Nevermind haha, the defender guy wussed out when black talon had only about 1 bar left. So i can just use my spell on him, go back into corridor and hide. rinse and repeat, the guy doesn't regenerate back health if you die or you run out of the room.
right now i'm experimenting with archetypes and travel powers.
so far it seems soldier, marksmen, and behemoth are the best, along with superspeed and flight for travel powers.
