I've started on my first actual mine deep within a mountain. I'm all the way down and mining just above lava level looking for diamonds. So far I've found more iron than I know what to do with, and six pieces of gold.
Before this, I thought that stone was good to keep. Now I'm literally just throwing it out the window. :v:
Also, I think I've been inside the mine for at least a week. I haven't left except for to gather wood every now and then.
I know, cover your shaft with iron blocks and build fortress' underground.
I have ALMOST tracked down that diamond. After HOURS of digging, I am on the precise shaft I NEED to be on for getting the diamond.

Gold is the same as wood. Just smelt it into blocks and decorate with them

I like it for the lighting, it makes me less paranoid about my caves having slightly darker shades in them.
I like that it's islands, but I don't like that it seems more tame now, less awe inspiring structures.
Having islands reduces the issue of 'keep walking, something better is just around the horizon, I just know it!' . Being on an island makes me want to maximize it's potential and then expand.

Most of the islands are huuuuuuuuge though, those maps I posted earlier are of only 30 minute's worth of walking (Including those stoppings I had to wait for morning)

How is it based off of air? I simple saw him say "ever heard of thumbnails?", and big images are a fairly common complaint from people, i could care less if he was talking to me or not, or if it is a inside joke, past argument/discussion, whatever it may be, doesn't matter, i'm still making a point.
