Someone make a pit underwater all the way down to lava so when he adds moving water stand there and watch all the water gush down onto the lava and see what happens. :D
"Massive progress on water today! It's a bit more "gel" than "water", but it's fast, stable, nonflooding and waterfally. And blocky."
this sounds fucking amazing, im so excited
Holy shit... Just this morning I actually had a thought about Notch declaring some sort of mine-pocalypse and how much of an early warning we'd get... and now THIS.
BRB, VISITING EXORCIST

If he adds a computer block, then you can play Minecraft.... WHILE PLAYING MINECRAFT.

Why does your torch look like a cross?
I made a death pit, it's deep enough for skeleton arrows to not hit me (as easily), but shallow enough that I can easily kill things in it with a bow.
[img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/stupid_skellies_are_stupid.png[/img_thumb]
I plan on making the bridge into a glass tunnel.
Two things I wish:
1.day and night cycle was toggleable, it's cool later on but when you're just starting to build a fort/castle/base/whatever it's just too damn dark and annoying. I like the sunshine.
2. either a different system for the trees, or when you cut all the logs from trees the branches just got destroyed automatically, leaving them looks messy but I usually can't be bothered.

#2 is present in indev, but not infdev yet. That too grinds my gears.

It has some sort of metal thingy around the flame. Pretty much 1 pixel sticking out on each side of the torch.
edit:
Ok maybe i don't even know how it's made but that's what it is. Check the tileset i posted earlier.

That's cool. Sexy tileset by the way.
Does anybody else here think that minecraft (despite its blockyness) can be beautiful? Looking at this reminded me of a postcard of some vacation spots.:
Also a guy mentioned playing minecraft with a controller......

= FREAKIN AWESOME. Give it a try. it will cost you $8. (that is the game controller I have had for months and works great)
There's someting about the way the cubes fit together to make something curvy and organic looking.
Wow, last night I had a dream that Notch added flowing water. Although It also eroded blocks, and the blocks could break in diagonals roughly like this:
_________
|\|/|\|/|
|/|\|/|\|
|\|/|\|/|
|/|\|/|\|
Where that is what one block is today.

I've played minecraft with my hacked together xbox controler thing, it's okay but not great.

I like how the map generator can give the impression of coldness and windsweptness by doing high, rolling hills with no trees, and then make things look warm and damp by sticking trees everywhere in a valley.
Also, I use a 360 controller and it works great :D

what about that thing when you put tape on your finger and thumb and you can move it around and it moves the screen or something

What?
I officially give up. I just spent exactly 4.20 hours looking around my continent, boosted my map size up 15mb and found exactly 0 gravel.
Either it's under the water line, under the sand, or the map gen HATES me.
Oh and although it will be useless tomorrow I figured out how to clear water fast. get a normal block placed above water. then drop some sand. an instant air shaft.

I wish I had your luck, cartographer says there's like 200k gravel, But I find 0 =[

I feel your pain. I had to travel ages to just find a couple blocks of gravel, and I lost my house.

Yeah that would be awesome. You'd get smooth surfaces. But not gonna happen.

You know on the beaches? look underwater, keep following the sand. there should be gravel after the sand under water

But you need to find it first. once you find it you get too much of it.

That was my first idea, but everywhere I try that I end up with either: Sand, Rocks or Dirt. No gravel =[ I must be doing something wrong.
