I'm unhappy with how water doesn't like spreading out horizontally to fill an area. Also you can bucket areas out in the middle of the ocean, and there will just be a hole .
I love the generator. Should I build my home here, or on a somewhat large floating island that I found nearby?
Where would my Infdev maps be saved?
Me and robert64 actually had a converstion about water earlier, we think that water coming from a sea body should be infinite, and keep filling any hole untill it reaches sea level, whereas lakes should have finite, and the entire level of the lake should change when a hole is made, to keep the same volume of water, but maintain a constant water level accross the water body. Any water which enters the sea should spread over a few blocks before vanishing entirely, but water entering lakes should slowly increase the volume of the lake, until it overflows =). Also, updated mapcraft link on the OP, and a few more pictures.

Notch is not pleased.
To all the ignorant folks who are saying, "HURR DURR I CANT MAKK MOAT DIS SUX," or, "HURR DURR I CANT MAKK RIVER DIS SUX," you can make a moat or river, and it can be more than one block deep. In fact, Notch even tells you how to do so in his blog post. And for those who are too lazy to go to the blog themselves, I am just going to cut out the important part and put it here.
Water will not spread out on top of existing water, but it won't drop down if you dig below it. So if you want to make a river several blocks deep, first make one one block deep, then dig below each water block.
If you can't comprehend this, what he is saying is that water won't go on top of other blocks of water but it will go under other blocks. So the simple solution is to start with a one block deep river or moat, then put water in it by use of a bucket while it is still one block deep, and the dig the moat deeper while the water is in it. Then eureka, you have a moat or a river that is as deep as you want.

Where do you guys get lava?
i think something went wrong. find my house >:D
Right in the center on the beach.
Nothing went wrong, it's just because it only shows the area that you have discovered in infdev.
Also, in the process of just digging the doublewide stairs to my mine, I have stumbled across more coal than I can possibly have a use for. I now have 130 torches (not counting the ones I used) and 34 coal left over. I would have more, but I ran out of pickaxes while digging through the absurd amount of coal blocks. Edit: Now that I have more pickaxes, I now have 53 coal.
What are you guys doing saying notch isn't pleased with a client for indev/infdev. Over the past year I haven't seen him say anything relating to clients, or why he'd dislike them. in fact, the only thing I've seen him say that he didn't like were custom servers, but a few days ago he said on IRC that he didn't care as much about them anymore, since multiplayer is going to be paid only.
Well I'm gonna use it until I get java to stop crashing firefox, I have to play the stand alone version because of the crashes.
It's not that you may not use it. It's just that there's no protection against pirating i think. With that client you can play without paying. I think that's why. Now this shouldn't have to be enforced. But the client shouldn't be in OP either.
What are you guys doing saying notch isn't pleased with a client for indev/infdev. Which is a more formidable size for a mine hallway? 2 blocks high and 2 blocks wide, or 3 blocks high and 3 blocks wide? 2x2 hallways seem to be quicker to make but they don't cover much area, but 3x3 hallways seem to cover enough area to catch some important ores but they take longer.
It's awesome.

He hates third party clients.
My Infdev Oblique, thanks ZomBuster! [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7958512/Zwolf11%20Map%201.png[/img_thumb]

Have you even used the client?
If you haven't heard him say that you must not listen very much. He hates third party clients.
please do show
It's not that you may not use it. It's just that there's no protection against pirating i think. With that client you can play without paying.
AFAIK every client we've gotten so far was just a repack of the same shit you'd get player side playing it through your browser, but hosting the actual game in a small standalone window instead. Still gotta log in and whatnot. At least, that's how it was for indev, because all the morons that tried pirating it on 4chan by downloading the client went "wait I can't play for free WTF" and then thought they could pull a spoof (which they couldn't.)
