The current map I play on, currently building my sand tower, also the castle, it's mostly underground. Only the entrance is outside. (durr)

This is pissing me off, I've been digging 1 level above lava at the bottom. Total mined out area is 58 x 52 x 2. I found NOTHING. No coal, no iron, no nothing.

For mining going down get's you the most ore yes.

you should not mine out entire rooms. Chances are you're just digging inbetween veins. make tunnels.

Last time I tried that, I found diamond, but I then fell in lava and lost everythiing. Shit happens :frown:

Also, for those having trouble finding ores, render slice 2 in Cartograph and dig yourself over to the areas that aren't gray (because they are ores)
