Even if they're polite I have a problem when anyone under 16 uses the microphone. When I was 16 and under I never used a microphone and I still didn't until I was 19.

Well I've known a couple under 15, and to be honest they were completely fine. It's not all kids under 15 that screams into their mics while going around trolling people.

When I first started playing online games on the PS2, when I was about 12 or 13, I was such a little dick head.
Then again, just after CoD4 came out, a mate was round at my house and he put the mic on while I played. My friend did a very realistic impression of a mentally disabled person and spoke quite loudly for the whole game. The community was oddly accepting of him and some American guys had a big chat with him about American Football, which was nice but also funny. The best part of the story is that, back in the day, I used to be pretty good at CoD4 so these guys were chatting to a supposed retard but getting beaten by twenty kills.
I'm 14 and hope that people do not see me as an idiot on the servers when I voice chat.
I don't insult and don't have a piercing voice.

I don't care what people say. Playing Team Fortress 2, I do what others do, calling out the locations of spies, warning about enemy attacks, asking where people want dispensers/teleporters, try to organize/assist actual decent strategies, [del]and scream into the microphone about how everyone who kills me is hacking and everyone I kill is a noob[/del].
well im 16. i find that most kids become more mature online at around 15 which is when they sound more normal. i used to play my ps2 online and sounded like a dumbass. few years later i am quiet and hardly even talk at all unless i really need to. Hell, when i tell some people my age over the mic (not random people, friends mainly) they think i'm some sort of pedophile because i sound like i'm 20.

It's really unfair to judge people you haven't known for more than a few minutes if they're not doing anything wrong.
Before my voice changed, people would instantly assume I was a stupid Halo obsessed Xbox Live kid. Around the time I turned 13 and my voice changed, the hostility stopped and people started thinking I was 18 or 19. Nothing had changed except for my voice.
Spend some time with a person in game before you assume that they're stupid. If they whine a lot or call people fags, go ahead and make fun of the little shit.
