Darksiders 2 expands on the combat even more so making it much more fluid and responsive. Platforming is also better as are the environments. Story is lacking slightly more compared to the first but it's a pretty big improvement.

The DLC will not disappoint. It is very challenging, unlike the story levels. (but the ease of those levels is part of the plot's meaning)
It'll give you several hours more gameplay with which to really go out there with your powers and gear.
