If anyone is on the STS they'd probably be able to comment on whether or not there seems to be any indication of activities. The strings for the sale usually get uploaded a few days before hand, this is how we first found about the flash sales. I do remember someone hinting that there were strings related to a mini-game involving Gordon a few days ago...

I doubt we'll be seeing coal/achievement hunting return this year. Last year turned into a disaster for Valve because of the farming/other illegal activities and exploitations.
We'll most likely see flash sales return along with daily deals as they tend to be safer for Valve
How about a monthly sale? Last day of the month is flash sales around the clock?

It better not be like the summer sale where the only remotely interesting things about the sale were the flash deals. They forced you to wake up early too, just to make sure you didn't miss any deals overnight.

Not trying to be the Steam Sale white knight, but no one forced you to wake up for those. Most of the deals recurred multiple times as well.

Looks like those pictures don't exist yet (apart from the DmC pic). My guess is they'll show up once those packs are actually posted to the store.

You should try the Half-Lifes themselves, too. I only bought the Orange Box for TF2, and man was I glad I eventually, after months, decided to try out the rest as well.
