Definitely the Ichthyosaur. The fucking sound it makes when it's coming after you in the water is FUCKING terrifying and I hate it so much.

Stalkers. When i played EP1 for the first time and the stalkers head popped up behind Alyx in the train i ran out of the room and screamed.

The damn Hydra, after getting the Gmod version of it. No matter how many times I get stabbed, it still makes me jump when it reaches 60 feet and impales me. I've secretly been hoping EP3 would have a cameo of the Hydra.

Fuck I hate headcrabs. I don't like things to jump at me.

I absolutely hate the Poison Headcrab Zombies from HL2, the sounds they make give me shivers. Playing through HL:S so I'll probably give one for that too.

The one called Alyx Vance is the most horrendous creature I've feasted eyes on. The laugh of said creature causes the children of a remote African village to cower in fear. The awful puns that spew from its mouth are the works of the devil itself. Only a few have survived the clutches of its VAGINA and able to survive to tell the tale. Alas we can only tremble in horror and try to make it shut up with a crowbar but fail to do even so.

That fucking vortigaunt at the top of the ladder in Episode 2. I freaked out, shot it, then fell all the way back down the mine shaft.

hl isn't scary... but if i have to choose, i rather prefer mr.friendly, the nihilanth, fast zombies, and thos darn advisors to be somekind of creepy. "darn" lol

Opposing Force had the scariest monsters, at least for me. The whole game had this very surreal feeling, like with the little star that's in the corner of your eye and flies away when you move towards it. The disconnect from reality is what's really scary.
