Creature from the Half-Life series you find scariest

I don't really find the enemies scary anymore, but here are the ones I did fear, and why.
HL2 Standard Zombie: In EP1 in the lowlife chapter...It was horrible. They would come out of nowhere and spawn even faster if your light was switched off...and then there was the sounds they made...in the dark. Then Alyx would say in a fearful voice: "Gordon?!"
At one point Alyx faked a zombie noise. I whipped round, shotgun in hand, and she grinned. "Gotcha!"
Poison Zombie: They come out of corners. Thats why I don't like them. Always in the dark. In the highway 17 level when you can go in one of those little houses to get a crossbow, one of them suddenly groaned from behind me. I was out of that place quicker than you could say "shellshocked".
AND in Ravenholm when I was there for the first time I was in a dark ally, and a loud noise like a whale pierced the darkness. I knew perfectly well what it was and ran...straight into it. I gave it a few shots to the head with the magnum.
HL Ichthyosaur: They seemed harmless enough...till I shot one. And the noises they made, the way they suddenly loom out of the water.
Gargantua: In the power plant level. when it shot flames its eye would glow and its mouth would be wide open. It freaked me out, especially when I was running for my life towards the generator.
HL2 Leech: In the nova prospekt level I tried swimming around the combine fortifications. I wondered why I died a few seconds later and only saw them when the screen was red.
Stalker: They are not the scariest but in EP1 in the stalker train...when the train crashed, there was Alyx with this tortured human thing screaming in her face, along with the others.
Well, I don't find any of these scary anymore, except maybe the poison zombie when it catches me off guard...
I wish Half life 2 had killable Leeches.
Fucking giant blue things in HL1. Gargantua, was it? Oh, and antlion guardians. And icythosaurs. :ohdear:
There was not a single scary enemy in any of the games. the noises they made always gave them away waaay haead of time.
The only scary moment I had when I saw a 'dead' fast zombie that was laying down, and its standing up and 'cringe' animation made go 'WOW' for a second. Then I shot it in the Headcrab.
Voltigores from Opposing Force. Not only because they can one-hit-kill you, but there is also a level set in dark tunnels full of these creatures...
Honestly, I never found them scary. But fucking annoying. Maybe because I played OpFor when I was older.
HL isn't scary to me anymore, but when I was younger, yeah, Ichthyosaur was the beast. Well, even now I don't like staying in water with them in HL so I guess I still fear them a bit.
Same with the sharks in Crysis. I let one chase me, keep saying stuff like "Holy shit! Fuck, fuck, FUCK!" in my native language. The reason was they are insta kill in that game.
I shut up now.
Ichthyosaur now in every Game with monster I avoid water at all time.

Then what would stop players from going out of the map?

More leeches. Leeches by the truckload.
Poison Headcrabs.
either alien grunts, babycrabs, or the one in the OP.
but mostly babycrabs. don't know why.

Poor Alyx and Barney... :(

Valve did experiment with an ichthyosaur coming out and attacking, it was meant to bite and flip you so you face the shore.
Fast headcrabs definitely gave me the worst "Sudden scare" out of all the HL games :V
ill say the gargantua. It gives you a sorta panic moment when you are running from it. or when you get stuck and its behind you.
Ichthyosaur definitely.
I think it's the surprise mostly, swimming around minding your own business and suddenly you're missing a leg, and in HL1 you can't see them below the surface so if you're in the water you've got to use your pistol, crossbow, or grenades and satchels, which takes forever and is extremely dangerous. I hate sharks.
by hl2 though, zombies and headcrabs are all the creepiness it has left.
Can't lose limbs in HL.
I'm pretty sure he meant that it gibs the player.
The Stalkers from the Missing Information Mod. :crying: I all of a sudden got F.E.A.R. flashbacks...
Half Life 1 end boss. Something with an N. Gave me nightmares when I first played.
the zombies that hid in the canal water and the fast zombie in the dumpster in ep2
The legless fast zombie freaked me out pretty good. They created a new model, animations, and sound, and only used the thing once. Sneaky bastards.
OFF-TOPIC : I find the smoker l4d2 model way fucking creepy

It's called a metaphor.

Oh my god those stalkers were the scariest thing ever! I stopped playing because of them.
