I just started playing, and I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. I'm just walked around hitting shit, and got a vine to use as a whip. Also, I'm guessing it's not possible to play this windowed?

I read the thread title as "I need two more viruses". Got me thinking there.

There's a countermeasure for grasshoppers. You take out the hammer and squash them. At least, that's what I did. Here's another secret from the game. :siren: You can use a stick on your fireplace to turn it into a torch. Hit things with your torch and you'll light them on fire. Things that are on fire can be cooked on, and will spread fire to nearby things. I like to light leaves on fire and cook meat on them. :siren:

I'm just placing "filler" on the map now.

Better but it seems odd how the water is surrounded with grass. Perhaps also lower the hills in the swamp . Swamps usually look pretty flat. More trees in the water also.

I could do many things with this. Such as letting you keep your skills if you want to start a new game, I could make it so when you sail off the the island you goto another island keeping your skills. But that could be tricky because if you go back to the first island everything will have respawned. Or you might just never be able to go back, that works too.
